Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for modifying queries in a discourse context. In one aspect, a method includes determining whether a query received from a user device subsequent to information provided to a user device and that defines a discourse context belongs to the discourse context. If the query belongs to the discourse context, the query is modified to take into account attributes of the discourse context.

One of the methods includes receiving seed queries for an answer box; analyzing query log information, wherein analyzing query log information comprises identifying query results that have been provided in response to the seed queries; identifying one or more of the query results as answer box indicators based on the analyses of the query log information, wherein the answer box indicators are indicators for the answer box; and storing data identifying the one or more query results as answer box indicators for the answer box.

Providing answer boxes based on query results

Embodiments generally relate to sharing photos in a social network system. In one embodiment, a method includes obtaining a plurality of photos associated with a target user in a social network system, and detecting a face of one or more persons in the plurality of photos. The method also includes computing significance values for the faces, where each significance value indicates a degree of significance between the target user and each person represented by each face. The method also includes generating a significance ranking of the significance values, and determining a group of photos for the target user based on the significance ranking.
