Provided is a control method for a gas turbine plant having a first and a second combustors in series, such that combustion gases produced in the first combustor flows into the second combustor. The second combustor having a fuel lance with internal partitions, for injecting at least one fuel and a gas having a mixture of inert gas and support air into the second combustor. The partitions enable the gas to carry, and/or veil, at least one of the fuels as the fuel exits the lance. A variable of the second combustor is measured and the inert gas to support air mixture varies in response to variations of the variable so as to at least partially compensate for the operational effects of the variable on the operation of the second combustor.

Operation of a gas turbine

A method involves operating a combined-cycle power plant (), which has a gas turbine () with a compressor () and a turbine (), a heat recovery steam generator () which is connected downstream to the gas turbine () and is for producing steam in a water/steam cycle, and also at least one once-through cooler (), through which flows compressed air which is compressed in the compressor () and intended for cooling the gas turbine (), and, cooling down, converts feed-water () which is fed from the heat recovery steam generator () into steam, and discharges the steam to the heat recovery steam generator (). The combined-cycle power plant is switched between a first operating mode, in which only the gas turbine cycle is used for power generation, and a second operating mode, in which the gas turbine cycle and the water/steam cycle are used for power generation.

Combined-cycle power plant having a once-through cooler

A method involved operating a combined-cycle power plant (), which has a gas turbine () with a compressor () and a turbine (), a heat recovery steam generator () which is connected downstream to the gas turbine () and is for producing steam in a water/steam cycle, and also at least one once-through cooler (), through which flows compressed air which is compressed in the compressor () and intended for cooling the gas turbine (), and, cooling down, converts feed-water () which is fed from the heat recovery steam generator () into steam, and discharges the steam to the heat recovery steam generator (). Making the operation more flexible is achieved, without lowering the load of the gas turbine (), by the combined-cycle power plant () being switched between a first operating mode, in which only the gas turbine cycle is used for power generation, and a second operating mode, in which the gas turbine cycle and the water/steam cycle are used for power generation.

Method for operating a combined-cycle power plant, and combined-cycle power plant useful for carrying out the method

A premix burner with staged liquid fuel supply is described having at least two partial cone shells which on the radial side form the boundary of a swirl chamber which axialwards conically widens, which partial cone shells are arranged in a partially overlapping manner, the center axes of the partial cone shells of which extend with offset effect in relation to each another, and the mutually overlapping partial cone shell sections of which enclose in each case an air inlet slot which extends tangentially to the swirl chamber, with a burner lance which projects axialwards into the swirl chamber, which lance provides means for feed of liquid fuel into the swirl chamber, and also with further means for feed of liquid fuel which are provided in the region of the air inlet slots. As such, additional means for feed of liquid fuel along at least one air inlet slot are formed and arranged in such a way that the liquid fuel delivery, which is conditioned by the further means, takes place in the form of a fuel spray which propagates perpendicularly to the tangential longitudinal extent of the air inlet slot, and also a fuel spray which propagates perpendicularly to an air flow which is directed through the air inlet slot.

Premix burner with staged liquid fuel supply and also method for operating a premix burner

A burner () for operating a heat generator includes a swirler () for a combustion air flow (), and also devices () for injecting at least one fuel into the combustion air flow (), wherein a mixing path () is arranged downstream of the swirler (), and wherein at least one nozzle () for feeding liquid pilot fuel is arranged in the region radially outside the discharge opening of the mixing path () of the burner. With such a burner, an operating mode which is as pollutant-free and overheating-free as possible can be enabled even at low load and under transient conditions if the at least one nozzle () is arranged in a burner front plate (), wherein at least one discharge opening (), through which the pilot fuel discharges into the combustion chamber (), is provided in a front face () of the burner front plate (), which is arranged essentially parallel to a combustion chamber rear wall ().

Burner for the operation of a heat generator and method of use

A premix burner, for example for a gas turbine, having a conical swirl generator () and a cylindrical mixing section () which follows it in the direction of flow, includes a high-pressure atomizer nozzle () with one or more fuel feed passages. The high-pressure atomizer nozzle () includes at least two outlet passages, through which liquid fuel enters the swirl generator (), these passages being arranged off-center with respect to the longitudinal axis of the nozzle and being configured in such a way that the spray cone () of the fuel is oriented at an angle (&#x3b2;) with respect to the longitudinal axis of the swirl generator () which is smaller than the cone half-angle (&#x3b1;) of the swirl generator (). The outlet passages in particular have an internal geometry with a conically narrowed section.
