A display panel driver which drives a display panel includes a compensator configured to generate a data signal by compensating for input image data based on deterioration data, a sampler configured to generate, when a first display region of the display panel is scanned at a first driving frequency and when a second display region of the display panel is scanned at a second driving frequency that is less than the first driving frequency, a data signal corresponding to a sampling pixel by sampling the data signal at a sampling frequency that is less than or equal to the second driving frequency, and an accumulator configured to generate the deterioration data by accumulating the data signal corresponding to the sampling pixel.

Display panel driver and display device including the same

A liquid crystal display device may include gate lines, data lines intersecting the gate lines, and pixels electrically connected to the gate lines and the data lines and arranged in pixel columns and pixel rows. The data lines include first-type data lines and second-type data lines. Exactly one pixel column is positioned between every immediately neighboring two of the first-type data lines. No pixel column is positioned between any immediately neighboring two of the second-type data lines. An image display system includes a camera part and an image display part. The image display part includes a user analyzer, a gamma corrector, a gamma voltage generator, and a display panel. The camera part takes a picture of a user and generates a user image signal. The user analyzer calculates the user's viewing direction based on the user image signal. The gamma corrector generates a correction gamma value based on the viewing direction. The gamma voltage generator generates a gamma voltage based on the correction gamma value, and the display panel displays an image corresponding to the gamma voltage. Accordingly, the image display system provides the image having an optimized gamma curve to the user in real time even without a separate input from the user.

An image processing controller, a display device including the image processing controller and a driving method of the display device are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes receiving an image signal and gamma correcting the image signal into at least one main area image signal. The method also includes interpolating the main area image signal into a boundary area image signal. The method further includes dithering the main area image signal and the boundary area image signal into a data signal and providing the data signal to a display panel.
