A power receiving connector for a contactless connector system is disclosed. The power receiving connector comprises a secondary inductive coupler electromagnetically coupled with a primary inductive coupler of a power transmitting connector, the secondary inductive coupler receiving electric power from the primary inductive coupler, a terminal connected to a secondary external component and outputting the electric power to the secondary external component, a switch connected to the terminal and controlling the electric power output at the terminal, a secondary data transceiver forming a data link with a primary data transceiver of the primary inductive coupler, and a secondary data communication interface connected to the secondary data transceiver and communicating with the secondary external component.

Contactless connector and contactless connector system

A contactless connector is provided and includes an inductive coupling element, a first contact lead, a second contact lead, a base plate, and an outer ferrite element. The inductive coupling element includes a plurality of windings, and the first contact lead and the second contact lead are connected to the plurality of windings and carry electric currents in opposing directions. The base plate includes a lead receiving passageway receiving both the first contact lead and the second contact lead, and the outer ferrite element is magnetically coupled to the base plate and partially surrounds the inductive coupling element.

Contactless connector

The invention relates to a contactless connector (), a system including the contactless connector () and a corresponding mating connector (), and a manufacturing method for the contactless connector. In order to enable the contactless connector () to transmit/receive power to/from the corresponding mating connector (), the invention suggest providing at the contactless connector an inner ferrite element () and an inductive coupling element () arranged to at least partially surround the inner ferrite element. An outer ferrite element () of the contactless connector is arranged to at least partially surround the inductive coupling element (), wherein a front end () of the outer ferrite element () facing the mating () end of the contactless connector is recessed in an axial direction of the contactless connector with respect to a front end () of the inner ferrite element () facing the mating end. A rear end () of the outer ferrite element () is magnetically connected to a rear end () of the inner ferrite element (). An inductive coupling support element () is arranged around the inner ferrite element (). The inductive coupling element is a wire wound around the inductive coupling support element (to form a coil comprising a plurality of coil windings (). The inductive coupling support element (comprises an outwardly extending intermediate disc that divides the coil windings () into a first and a second coil winding section. The intermediate disc () has a slot () forming a coil wire passageway through which the coil wire is routed.

Contactless connector, contactless connector system, and a manufacturing method for the contactless connector

The invention relates to contactless plug connectors and contactless plug connector systems for electromagnetically connecting a correspondrng mating plug connector. In order to allow for an electromagnetic connection, the invention suggest providing at least one antenna element arranged within the mating end of the contactless plug connector to transmit and/or to receive radio waves modulated with a predetennined carrier frequency, a transmitting/receiving circuit for modulating an inputted baseband input signal onto the predeteimined carrier frequency and transmitting the modulated baseband input signal and/or for demodulating a received radio wave into a baseband output signal. In particular, the contactless plug connector and contactless plug connector system include a securing element for securing the mating end of the contactless plug connector at close proximity to a corresponding mating end of the mating connector such that an electromagnetic connection can be established with the corresponding mating connector.

Contactless plug connector and contactless plug connector system

The invention relates to a wireless power connector and a wireless power connector system including at least one wireless power connector for contactlessly receiving electric power from a second connector and for contactlessly supplying electric power to a third connector. In order to enable the wireless power connector to inductively forward electric power received from the second connector, the invention suggests providing a first and a second mating end respectively connectable to the second and the third connector and a magnetic core extending between the first and the second mating end. A coil is wound around the magnetic core and configured to output, as an alternating current, at least parts of the electric power received from the second connector. The magnetic core interconnects the first and the second mating end such that, in a connected state, the magnetic core inductively forwards electric power to the third connector.

Wireless power connector and wireless power connector system

A contactless coupler is disclosed. The contactless coupler has an inductive coupling element adapted to transmit and/or receive power by inductive magnetic coupling and a capacitive coupling element adapted to transmit and/or receive a data signal by capacitive coupling. The capacitive coupling element comprises one or more capacitive electrodes disposed at an end of the coupler.

The invention relates to contactless plug connectors and contactless plug connector systems for electromagnetically connecting a corresponding mating plug connector. In order to allow for an electromagnetic connection, the invention suggest providing at least one input terminal for inputting a baseband input signal; an antenna element arranged at the mating end of the contactless plug connector; and a transmitting circuit for modulating the inputted baseband input signal on a predetermined carrier frequency and for transmitting the modulated baseband input signal via the antenna element as a radio wave with the predetermined carrier frequency. In particular, the contactless plug connector and contactless plug connector system include an electromagnetic shielding element arranged to surround the transmitting circuit and the antenna element with a rim portion forming an opening at the mating end of the contactless plug connector.

The connector further comprises an antenna element () and an antenna connection line () arranged in an opening in the inner ferrite element ().
