A massage device comprises a body having a body-contacting head adjacent one end and a handle adjacent the other end, the body shaped to permit the user to reach the back of his/her body with the head when the handle is at the user's front or side; and having a rest pivot extending from the body and terminating at a distal end in a support-contacting face, the rest pivot being positioned so that when the device is between a support surface and the user with the head in contact with the user's body and the handle positioned for contact by the user's hand, (a) the user's bodyweight stabilizes the rest pivot against sliding movement on the support and (b) any pivoting force about the rest pivot applied by the user's hand to the handle is substantially less than the force exerted against the user's body by the head.

Self-massage device

A clock with a seemingly gravity-defying time-indicating element adjacent a substantially vertically disposed dial comprises a magnetic guide element positioned behind the dial for movement around the dial as a function of time, and a magnetically responsive time-indicating element such as a metallic-appearing sphere positioned for viewer visibility in front of the dial. The time-indicating element is magnetically coupled to the guide element for movement therewith around the front of the dial in apparent defiance of gravity to indicate the time without becoming decoupled from the guide element. The time-indicating element is a generally hollow shell of non-magnetically responsive material, with an internal, generally tubular and generally space-enclosing member extending across its interior to capture and restrict the movement of a magnetically-responsive coupling element positioned within the generally tubularly enclosed space, and sized to move freely therewithin so that any surface of the coupling element can generally abut the interior wall of the time-indicating element at either end of the tubular enclosure, said coupling element being mechanically coupled to the time-indicating element for movement therewith and magnetically coupled to the guide element through the dial for time-responsive movement of the time-indicating element.

A modular rack for storing objects. Each rack element has forward, rear, and side walls. The rack elements are configured to have a plurality of protrusions and recessions so that the protrusions and recessions of a rack element slideably interlock with complementary recessions and protrusions of other rack elements of generally similar appearance, so that the rack elements may be assembled into a modular rack without the need of tools or external fastening elements.

A plurality of individual magnetically-responsive leg-defining bodies are magnetically coupled together through a printed medium such as a photograph, note or other generally similarly shaped object to stably support the medium in a viewed position.

A perpetual calendar has a free standing or wall hung structure supporting an anchor point and a number of concealed magnets. A pointer magnet is attached by a line to the anchor point. Attraction between the pointer magnet and a selected one of the concealed magnets can support the pointer magnet and line in levitation against gravitational pull. The concealed magnets may be arranged in an arc on the calendar structure, with day, month or year data indicated along the arc at locations corresponding to the concealed magnet locations, so that the line and pointer magnet serve as a visual indicator of selected calendar data. Multiple displays of calendar data may be provided on a calendar structure, including multiple levitated pointer displays or combinations of levitated displays and sliding pointer displays.

Perpetual calendar

A cable clamp may be constructed from a hollow body, a wedge-shaped member and a means for dislodging the member from the body. The body includes a tapered channel that is sized and shaped to accommodate the member and round, flat or rectangular cable sections. The means for dislodging the member include an aperture extending from one side of the member to the other, at least one cylindrical bearing surface positioned at the upper end of the body, and a camshaft. The camshaft has at least one cylindrical end with an inward facing end and an outward facing end. A cylindrical shaft in orthogonally and eccentrically mounted to the inward facing end. The camshaft is positioned so that the cylindrical shaft will bear against the inner surface of the aperture and the end portion will bear against the bearing surface. When the camshaft is rotated, the cylindrical shaft will cause the aperture and the wedge-shaped member to be displaced upwardly from the body. Standard means for rotating the camshaft include: standard screw slots, Phillips screw slots, hex nut connectors, Allen sockets, Torx sockets, and square socket connectors. In a variant, a separate, removable dislodging tool may replace the camshaft as may a captive camshaft that has only a single cylindrical end portion constrained within the upper end of the body. Other variants include means of attaching the body to objects, including wire bails, holes in the body and hooks. Means of connecting the member to the wire bail are provided.

Cable clamp

An end seal assembly for an aerial closure for protecting an electrical or optical cable splice. The end seal assembly includes a pair of end seal shell segments connectable to an end of the housing of the aerial closure. An elastomeric end seal has a unitary body including a pair of end seal elements hingedly secured together and provided with cutting guides to aid a lineman in forming cuts in the respective seal elements extending in opposite directions. Each seal element is deformable for mounting on a cable and pins adjacent each side of a cut formed in each seal element are received in sockets on the adjacent seal element to prevent deformation of the end seal after it has been secured to a cable and positioned in the end seal shells in the aerial closure housing. When an opening is formed in the end seal a corrugated portion of the body urges elongated sealing surfaces into engagement with a cable extending through the opening to permit movement of the cable relative to the aerial closure housing without destroying the integrity of the seal.

An enclosure for a cable splice having a sealing compound inside a wrap, and including a housing for positioning around the splice, a plurality of presser arms in the housing positioned between the housing and the splice, with each of the arms having a boss projecting outward through the housing, and a clamp or strap or the like for engaging the bosses and pressing them regularly inward to apply pressure to the sealing compound by the presser arms engaging the wrap.

Encapsulation closure for cables

An aerial closure for protecting an electrical or optical cable splice from weathering forces is provided. The aerial closure has a central header portion and wing-like housing segments that may enclose a cable splice. The wing-like housing segments may be raised, providing access to the cable splice from either side of the cable splice and below the cable splice. Each end of the aerial closure has a seal assembly for sealingly engaging the ends of the cable segments whereby the ends of the aerial closure are also protected from the weathering elements. The seal assembly has concentrically circular and corrugated features thereon so that an appropriately sized hole may be cut into the seal assembly for any standard cable size. The corrugated features allow marking the standard cable sized alternatingly on either side of the seal assembly so that it is easier to find and cut the correct sized hole for the cable. The housing segments may be locked with a simple latch, a nut and bolt assembly, or both. In the closed position, the bottom edges of the housing segments interlock for mechanical strength, but also have small spaces or cracks to allow any water to drain from the closure.

Aerial closure

A cable enclosure for enclosing electrical cable splices, typically telephone cables. An elongate housing having first and second housing members joined together along one edge for movement between housing open and closed conditions, and an elongate header for attachment to a messenger cable, with the housing members being closable about the header. A suspension system is provided for supporting the housing members from the header when in the open condition providing free access to the cables during the splicing operation. The housing members have replaceable end plates for handling various numbers of cables through each end plate.

Cable enclosure

A switching assembly for selectively connecting telephone cable to a test set or the like. A mounting panel provides connectors for receiving two twenty-five pair telephone cables, and a third connector for receiving another twenty-five pair cable. A set of switches provides for connecting the third connector to either the first or second connector. The switches are mounted in a row on a printed circuit board and are driven by a sliding actuator plate carried between the switches and the mounting panel, with a rotating knob driving the actuator plate to control the switches, and indicating which of the first and second connectors is being connected.
