This disclosure provides a method for determining male fertility status. The method comprises determining Gdistribution patterns following induced sperm capacitation, identifying the frequency of distribution of various patterns, and determining if the frequency distribution of certain Gpatterns in response to induced capacitation is altered. Based on the change in the frequency distribution patterns of certain patterns in response to induced capacitation, alone or in combination with other sperm attributes, male fertility status can be identified.

Identifying status of male fertility by determining sperm capacitation

An integrated automated system comprising a microfluidic cassette, and methods of use thereof, for intracytoplasmic sperm injection assisted fertilization. The microfluidic cassette and the integrated automated system provides a complete set-up of human gametes for assisted in vitro fertilization, including proper cell stage recognition, gamete propulsion via microfluidic currents, microinjection of a spermatozoon into an oocyte, and subsequent embryo culture and monitoring, thus allowing widespread distribution of in vitro insemination by favoring affordability.

Automated intracytoplasmic sperm injection assisted fertilization system

The present invention relates to an electrofusion microelectrode made of a tube having a first proximal end and a second distal end. The tube has an electrically conductive coating on its exterior surface that extends continually from the first proximal end of the tube toward the second distal end of the tube. Also disclosed is an electrofusion microelectrode unit having an electrofusion microelectrode and a holding tool capable of receiving the electrofusion microelectrode at the second distal end of the tube. The present invention also relates to a system having two or more electrofusion microelectrodes of the present invention and to methods of manipulating cells and/or cellular components using the electrofusion microelectrodes, units, and systems of the present invention.

Electrofusion microelectrode and methods of using it to manipulate cells and/or cellular components

The present invention is directed to an electrofusion microelectrode used in the alignment, manipulation, fusion, or electroporation of cells. This device is particularly useful for transplantation of cells and cellular components.
