An air inlet region is between the endpiece element and the capsule cavity. The air inlet region has an air inlet and an air passageway extending from the air inlet to the capsule cavity. The air passageway has an inner diameter less than an inner diameter of the capsule cavity. A porous support element defines a downstream end of the capsule cavity. The porous support element includes one or more apertures extending the length of the porous support element.

The composite porous support element is formed of a first porous material concentrically disposed about a second porous material. The first porous material has a first resistance to draw and the second porous material having a second resistance to draw. The first resistance to draw is different than the second resistance to draw. A mouthpiece air channel () extends from the capsule cavity, through the composite porous element to the mouthpiece end.
