The device for sorting items, such as rolls, is provided downstream of a first number (N) of feeding channels (Ca) of items (R), which feeding channels (Ca) are provided with dispensing members (S) for a controlled release of the items (R). The device () includes: a number of mobile tracks () equal to the first number (N), arranged downstream of the (N) feeding channels (Ca) and operatively associated in pairs, so as to define operating gaps (H) between successive pairs. The first mobile tracks () are movable in reciprocal synchronism, transversally (W) to the feeding channels (Ca). A second number (M) of second mobile tracks () are arranged downstream of the feeding channels (Ca) and are disposed each one between successive pairs of the first tracks () at the operating gaps (H). The second tracks () are movable both in synchronism with the first tacks (), transversally (W) to the feeding channels (Ca), and in phase relation with operation of the first tracks (), transversally (W) to the feeding channels (Ca), within the operating gaps (H).

Device and method for sorting items, such as rolls

The device for sorting items, such as rolls, is provided downstream of a first number (N) of feeding channels (Ca) of items (R), which feeding channels (Ca) are provided with dispensing members () for a controlled release of the items (R). The device () includes: a number of mobile tracks () equal to the first number (N), arranged downstream of the N feeding channels (Ca) and operatively associated in pairs, so as to define operating gaps (H) between successive pairs. The first mobile tracks () are movable in reciprocal synchronism, transversally (W) to the feeding channels (Ca). A second number (M) of second mobile tracks () are arranged downstream of the feeding channels (Ca) and are disposed each one between successive pairs of the first tracks () at the operating gaps (H). The second tracks () are movable both in synchronism with the first tracks (), transversally (W) to the feeding channels (Ca), and in phase relation with operation of the first tracks (), transversally (W) to the feeding channels (Ca), within the operating gaps (H).

The method envisages that groups of articles () to be packaged, arranged orderly with a lateral narrowed dimension oriented in the forward movement direction (A), are fed along a feeding line (). Single packaging sheets () are carried beside the feeding line (), in suitable phase relation with the forward movement of the articles (). The groups of articles () are transferred crosswise to the feeding line (), so as to hit the sheets () with the lateral narrow extension of the groups of articles () in order to fold the sheets (). The folded edges of the sheets () are joined along the opposite side of the groups of articles (), presenting a corresponding lateral narrow extension.

Method and apparatus for wrapping articles with a packaging sheet

A conveying device for machines for packaging rolled articles includes a series of carriages, fastened, regularly spaced apart, to conveying means moved stepwise along an endless path. Each pair of adjacent carriages define holding seats for respective groups of articles to be packaged in a single pack with a sheet of a wrapping material. The carriages include a plurality of pushing prongs which extend, perpendicular to the conveying means, from slide means slidingly mounted on gliding means fastened to the conveying means crosswise to a forward movement direction of conveying means. The conveying device include also means for adjusting the position of the pushing prongs on the carriages, aimed at operating the slide means to move in a selected position along the gliding means.

Conveying device for machines for packaging rolls and the like

In a machine for packaging stacks of multiply articles of paper into wrapping sheets, a first line conveys stacks of multiply articles of paper to a a wrapping station while a second feeds wrapping sheets to the wrapping station. Each sheet is kept vertically in a waiting position in the wrapping station until one stack is moved towards the sheet, so that the sheet gradually folds around the stack with overlapping parallel edges to be heat-welded. In the said second line there are first endless belts and second endless belts for a wrapping sheet received from conveying means situated upstream. The sheet is pulled up to the wrapping station and is clamped in the wait position by suction.

Machine for packaging stacks of multiply paper articles or the like into wrappings obtained from a wrapping sheet

According to a method for packaging one stack of multiply articles made of paper, a presser receives and compacts the stack of articles to be packaged and a pusher moves longitudinally the stack so as to make the stack hit a wrapping foil, previously placed vertically. The stack, partially wrapped within the wrapping foil, is introduced between a pair of belt conveyors. The presser and the pusher are carried by a slide moving longitudinally between a backward position with respect to the wrapping foil, where the stack is received and compacted, and a forward position, in which the presser hit the wrapping foil and move close to the belt conveyors, so as to transfer and introduce the stack between the belt conveyors.

Method and an apparatus for packaging stacks of multiply articles made of paper or the like

In a station for forming stacks of layers of articles, a horizontal supporting surface has a window for allowing a layer to pass freely therethrough. First pushing bars drive the layers along the support surface. A stationary descending ramp starts from the initial part of the window and extends downstream. A horizontal lower surface is situated after the ramp and under a horizontal upper surface, and forms a part of the support surface situated downstream of the window. An additional conveyor is associated to the window to restore cyclically a continuity in the support surface in the region of the window for the odd layers, and consequently to direct each odd layer toward the upper surface, and to allow the even layers to pass cyclically through the window. The even layers are consequently directed, due to gravity, onto the ramp. Second pushing bars move each even layer to the ramp and convey the even layer to the lower surface. Third pushing bars move then each even layer on the lower surface, situated below. The even layer moves with the same speed as the corresponding odd layer, pulled by one of the first pushing bars on the upper surface.

Station for forming stacks of layers of articles

A device for conveying packages includes a conveyor with a running surface ending with a terminal area, a series of stationary stops and vertical prongs under the stops and above the running surface. The prongs move along a path which follows a circular trajectory in the terminal area. Packages are introduced between two heat-sealing vertical belts in an inlet area. The inlet area of the vertical belts is situated at a distance from the terminal area of the conveyor. A forwarding belt, coplanar with the running surface of the conveyor, is situated between the inlet area and the terminal area of the conveyor. The forwarding belt is operated with a speed higher than the operation speed of the conveyor, so that the packages are not subjected to the prongs action when they rotate upward in the terminal area. The forwarding belt extends from the terminal area of the conveyor, to at least the inlet area of the vertical belts, and the stops protrude to cover the major part of the forwarding belt.
