A process of cold rolling an aluminum product, e.g. a strip, which crosses at least one rolling stand, wherein a lubricant is applied to the strip close to said at least one rolling stand by means of a plurality of applying means, said lubricant comprising an emulsion of oil and water. A related rolling plant is also described.

Process for cold rolling an aluminum product and related cold rolling plant

A rolling stand for tubes or rounds comprising two or more rolls defining a rolling section of the rolling stand that is coaxial to a rolling axis Y of the same stand, each roll having a respective rolling surface defining a respective straight line of symmetry passing through the rolling axis and through the center of symmetry of the respective surface, thus determining a first half and a second half of the respective surface. The rolling stand also including two gap zones having a radial distance from the rolling axis and a groove bottom zone having a radial distance from the rolling axis at the intersecting point of the respective surface with the respective straight line of symmetry, the rolling stand providing, for each roll on said respective rolling surface, at least one first pushing zone and at least one second pushing zone.

Crystallizer for continuous casting, having a monolithic tubular structure defined by lateral walls () in the thickness of which channels () are made in which a cooling liquid flows, wherein two adjacent lateral walls () define a corner or s edge zone. On at least one longitudinal portion (C) of at least one of the lateral walls () and/or of at least one of the corner zones, defining a zone in correspondence with which, during use, the meniscus of the liquid metal is located, a reduction in thickness () is made, starting from the external surface, determining a cross section with a reduced area with respect to the remaining longitudinal portions of the monolithic tubular structure.

Crystallizer for continuous casting

Crystallizer for continuous casting, having a monolithic structure defined by lateral walls in the thickness of which channels () are made in which a cooling liquid flows. The channels () are geometrically sized so as to define, in a zone substantially astride the meniscus (M), an increased transit speed of the cooling liquid, wherein by increased speed it is intended that in at least some of the cooling channels () the speed of transit of the cooling liquid is greater in the zone astride the meniscus (M) compared with a zone below or above said zone astride the meniscus (M).

A hot-rolling plant () for the production of metal strips comprising a roughing stand (), a reheating furnace () or a maintenance tunnel for maintaining the temperature of the product, a pre-finishing mill train (), comprising three or four stands, a finishing mill train (), comprising two or three stands, for finishing the product, in which the work rolls of one stand are provided with their own motor drive, independent one from each other, so as to allow the peripheral speeds of both of said work rolls to be autonomously varied under rolling load.

Rolling plant

Process for the in-line thermal treatment of rolled rails which ensures to obtain a fine pearlitic structure which is uniform through a whole predetermined superficial thickness of the rail head. There is also disclosed a new device for the thermal treatment of rails in-line with a rolling system which, as compared to the known devices, is structurally much simpler, has a high sturdiness and requires less maintenance.
