A method for wet production of a superabsorbent material. The method comprises forming an aqueous saline solution with a concentration of 0.01-4.5 N of ionic salt and a pH from 0 to 6.0 or from 8.0 to 14.0 by the addition of a strong acid or strong base; dispersing in the saline solution a water superabsorbent polymer (SAP); creating a first web by stratification and deposition under vacuum suction onto a mesh screen belt deposition section of the SAP dispersion; washing the web with a basic solution (or with an acidic solution) up to the desired level of neutralization of the acidity (or basicity) for SAP dispersions in acidic (or basic) saline solutions; washing the web with water and suction; and drying the web. The relationship between pH and salt concentration causes a water absorption in the SAP equal to or less than about 30.00 g/g.

Superabsorbent material sat (super absorbent tissue)

The invention relates to absorbent structures for use in absorbent articles. The structures include a first region for distribution of fluid and a second region for storage of fluid. The first region contains materials, with a relatively high capillary desorption pressure, while the second region contains materials exhibiting a sufficiently high capillary absorption pressure efficiently drain the first region. Exemplary materials have a CSDHof more than 40 cm, and a second region containing a material which satisfies at least one of following requirements: (a) an absorption capacity of at least 15 g/g at 35 cm (b) an absorption capacity of at least 15 g/g at 0 cm and an absorption efficiency of at least 55% at 40 cm; and (c) a Capillary Sorption Absorption height at 50% of its capacity at 0 cm absorption height (CSAH) of at least 35 cm.

Absorbent structures comprising fluid storage members with improved ability to dewater distribution members

The present invention relates to face masks to control and improve the quality of inhaled air. Claimed and described is a respiratory face mask comprising a flange and a filter layer, the flange having an inner periphery and an outer periphery and a first and a second width measured perpendicular to the inner periphery between the inner periphery and the outer periphery, characterised in that the first width is greater than the second width. Preferably, such face masks are strapless and rely on a hydrogel adhesive for attachment and sealing. Further claimed and described is an improved cover layer for an adhesive of such a face mask.

Strapless respiratory face mask

Anti-snoring devices, more specifically to externally worn anti-snoring devices covering essentially a wearer's mouth and being adhesively attached to a wearers skin in the peri-oral area are described. The articles utilise an improved adhesive so as to facilitate easy application and removal of the article from the wearer, whilst ensuring maintenance of the article in the desired position. In particular the adhesives provide attachment on greasy and oily skin.

Described are absorbent members useful in the containment of body liquids such as urine. These absorbent members comprise at least one osmotic absorbent (preferably a hydrogel-forming absorbent polymer) and a high surface area material, and have a high capillary suction capacity.
