Disclosed is a highly effective detergency builder system comprising the combination of particular ether carboxylate sequestering agents and particular types of dispersing/anti-redeposition agents. Such selected ether carboxylates can include oxydisuccinate, tartrate monosuccinate and/or tartrate disuccinate. Such particular dispersing/anti-redeposition agents can include salts of acrylic acid-based polymers and co-polymers or can include certian ethoxylated amine materials. This selected combination of particular ether carboxylate sequestering agents and particular dispersing/anti-redeposition agents provide an especially useful builder system for use in phosphorus-free detergent or laundry additive products.

Detergency builder system

A highly effective detergency builder system comprises the combination of a major proportion of an ether polycarboxylate and minor proportions of an iron and manganese chelating agent and a polymeric polycarboxylate dispersing agent.

Detergent compositions comprising a mixture of polyethylene glycol and polyacrylate of specified molecular weight are disclosed.

This invention relates to bleaching compositions that provide effective and efficient surface bleaching of textiles over a wide range of bleach solution temperatures. Surface bleaching of textiles is bleaching wherein the bleaching mechanism takes place on the textile surface and, thereby, removes stains and/or soils. The bleaching compositions within the invention contain peroxygen bleaches capable of yielding hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solutions and specific bleach activators at specific molar ratios of hydrogen peroxide to bleach activator. In a highly preferred embodiment the bleaching compositions within the invention are detergent compositions.

Bleaching compositions

A laundry detergent composition providing cleaning and softening of textiles comprises an anionic surfactant, a water-insoluble di C.sub.10 -C.sub.26 tertiary amine, and a water-soluble cationic compound which may be a mono C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkyl primary, secondary or tertiary amine, or a water-soluble salt thereof or a water-soluble mono C.sub.8 -C.sub.16 alkyl quaternary ammonium compound. A smectite clay serving as an additional textile softening agent and a detergent builder salt are preferred components of the granular form of the composition which may contain other conventional detergent ingredients.

Additive products for use in the washing of textiles are provided comprising an organic peroxy bleach precursor on a non particulate solid substrate that can be added to conventional inorganic persalt containing detergent liquors to enhance their bleaching performance particularly at temperatures of 70.degree. C. and below.

Laundry additive product

Additive products are provided for use in the washing of textiles comprising a mixture of an organic peroxy bleach precursor, a cationic surfactant and an alkoxylated nonionic surfactant of HLB 8-17 in water releasable combination with a non-particulate substrate, the additive products being adapted for addition to conventional inorganic persalt-containing detergent liquors to enhance the removal of bleachable and greasy stains.
