An obturator disc comprising a cylindrical element (11) of transparent plastic material provided with a unitary hub (13) by means of which it can be connected to a rotating member. To a front surface (14) of the cylindrical element there is applied, by a photographic process, a layer of opaque material in an annular zone of which there is formed a plurality of transparent windows (16) of high definition.

Obturator disc for an optical transducer

A device for detecting the level of a liquid contained in a tank, for example the level of the fuel contained in the tank of a motor car. The device comprises a vertical bar inserted in the tank and a float movable with respect to the bar to follow the variations in the level. The bar, which is of insulating material, acts as a supporting element for a printed circuit having at least one continuous conductive track and a variable resistor parallel to the continuous track. On the float there is mounted a metal element which simultaneously contacts both the conductive track and the variable resistor.

Device for detecting the level of a liquid contained in a tank

The optical transducer is connected to a rotary shaft (71) for detecting the angular position thereof and generates corresponding electrical signals. The transducer comprises a casing formed by two casing halves (11, 12) which can be assembled together by means of latch elements (62, 63). Mounted on a first casing half (11) are three phototransistors (31, 32) for detecting the light emitted by a diode (58) mounted on the other casing half (12). A shutter disc (64) which is provided with radial openings is mounted rotatably within the casing on the shaft (71) which is supported by a self-aligning bush (19) which is mounted on a casing half. A flexible printed circuit (38) is disposed within the first casing half, parallel to the shutter disc and is in contact with the three phototransistors. The printed circuit has a projecting portion (43) which is bent over inside the casing so as to contact the diode (58) and a projecting portion (39) which extends out of the casing to be connected to an external connector. In another embodiment the second casing half also has a self-aligning bush for the shaft.

Rotary optical transducer

A type-carrier disk with flexible tongues for a printing device includes a central part for fixing onto a selection shaft and a peripheral notched crown from which issue several flexible tongues each tongue ending with a base from which projects a corresponding character. For different fonts, in the corresponding disks, the characters present a similar angular position and the base of a similar character has the same dimension and form able to edge the envelope of the different fonts. A positioning wedge protrudes from the base of the character and cooperates with a V notched hammer of the machine. The tongues are regularly spaced following regular angular spaces and in the disk used for differential spacing characters, the axis of the characters are angularly shifted in relation to the wedges of the tongues in inverse ratio to the sizes of the character and to the spacing steps of which the disk is to be spaced after the printing of said characters.

Type-carrier disk with flexible tongues

A typing device comprises a character-bearing disc having a central part for being fixed on a selector shaft and a peripheral rim with a plurality of selectable flexible laminae. Each lamina carries a particular character and striking means flexes the selected lamina to strike against a typing point of a sheet carrying platen for typing. A positioning element, for angular positioning the characters with respect to the typing point, comprises a recess cooperating with a wedge-shaped profile of each one of the selected laminae when the character strikes on said platen. The laminae carry alphabetic and numerical characters and a gap on the peripheryof the disc enables the last typed characters of a typing line to be seen and read. Further a hooked element cooperates with an elastic means of a flange integral with the selector shaft to removably fix the character bearing disc to the selector shaft.

Typing device

A cartridge for an endless inked ribbon for printing office machines comprises a container in which are disposed separating elements which define a storage zone. An endless inked ribbon is disposed in loops and is distributed at random in the storage zone. The inked ribbon passes from a slit to the exterior of the storage zone and through one aperture to the exterior of the container. A section of the inked ribbon is twisted through 180.degree. to form a Mobius loop, by guide elements which localize the twisted section in a zone of the container outside the storage zone. The inked ribbon passes back into a container through a second aperture and returns to the interior of the storage zone through an opening thereof. At least one curved wall, adjacent to the slit, defines an housing for receiving any loop which have escaped from the slit for preventing a plurality of loops of the ribbon emerging simultaneously from the storage zone.

Cartridge for an endless inked ribbon for printing office machines

A fixing device for a type-carrier disk in which the selection shaft includes a selection shaft, a flange defining a rotation plane and a conical end. The type-carrier disk comprises a central part cooperating with the flange and a conical seat for housing the conical end of the shaft. The central part of the disk has two apertures disposed symmetrically with respect to the conical seat for housing fixing members pivotally mounted on the flange. Resilient elements cooperate with the fixing members for holding the central part of the disk tight against the flange and the conical seat tight against the conical end of the shaft. A knob of the central part is adapted to remove the disk from the selection shaft against the action of the resilient elements.

Fixing device for a type-carrier disk

A cartridge for a carbon ribbon of an office machine, comprises a container in which are rotatable a feed spool and a take-up for the carbon ribbon. The carbon ribbon passes from the feed spool out of a first aperture and back into the container through a second aperture of the container. The take-up spool is rotatable mounted on a support which is pivoted in the container about a fixed axis. The container has at the bottom an opening arranged in correspondence of a toothed roller also rotatable in the container and adapted to receive a driving shaft of the machine for the rotation of the toothed roller. A spring biases the support of the take-up spool against the teeth of the toothed roller for holding the outermost turn of the carbon ribbon wound on the take-up spool in engagement with the toothed roller, so that for the rotation of the take-up spool by the toothed roller, the ribbon is unwound from the feed spool to the take-up spool.

Cartridge for a ribbon of a typewriter or like office machines

A typing device comprises a character-bearing disc having a central part for being fixed on a selector shaft and a peripheral rim with a plurality of selectable flexible laminae. Each lamina carries a particular character and striking means flexes the selected lamina to strike against a typing point of a sheet carrying platen for typing. A positioning element, for angular positioning the characters with respect to the typing point, comprises a recess cooperating with a wedge-shaped profile of each one of the selected laminae when the character strikes on said platen.
