Disclosed is a composition for a high strength loose tube type fiber optic cable with excellent flexibility and excellent impact resistance, which includes a polypropylene-polyethylene copolymer having a melt flow index (MFI) of 1.1 g/10 minutes to 3.0 g/10 minutes at 230&#xb0; C. and a flexural modulus of 10,000 to 23,000 kg/cm. A fiber optic cable including a loose tube formed with the composition for a high strength loose tube type fiber optic cable has excellent flexibility and impact resistance as well as excellent appearance.

A foam coaxial cable includes a central conductor; an inner skin layer surrounding the central conductor coaxially; an insulation layer surrounding the inner skin layer coaxially and made of polyethylene resin containing a plurality of foam cells uniformly formed therein; wherein the inner skin layer is made of polyolefin resin having excellent compatibility with the polyethylene resin to increase an interfacial adhesive force with the insulation layer, an outer skin layer surrounding the insulation layer coaxially to prevent overfoaming of the insulation layer and allow uniform creation of foam cells; a shield surrounding the outer skin layer coaxially; and a jacket surrounding the shield. This cable improves an interfacial adhesive force between the central conductor and the insulation layer and also improves the degree of foam of the foam cells, thereby capable of propagating ultra high frequency of GHz level without signal interference.

Disclosed are an optical fiber unit in which at least 1-core optical fiber is mounted in and protected by a buffer tube, and an optical cable including the optical fiber unit. The buffer tube is made of a mixture, which includes a composite resin including a resin selected from polyolefin polymer, nitrile rubber and their mixture, and plasticized polyvinylchloride; and an inorganic additive, wherein, in a stress-strain curve of the buffer tube, a modulus is 5 to 50 kgf/mmin a linear region with an elongation less than 1% and a tan &#x3b4; is less than 0.5 at 30&#xb0; C. The buffer tube of the optical fiber unit may be very usefully applied to an optical cable because it may be easily cut out to ensure easy contact and gives excellent elasticity without being crushed by lateral pressure.
