A docking simulator according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure is a docking simulator capable of mimicking docking between two flight vehicles in a zero gravity environment, the docking simulator including: a passive module which is disposed at a preset position; and an active module which performs docking with the passive module by approaching the passive module while performing a translational motion. According to the present disclosure, the docking simulator capable of performing, on the ground, a logic verification test for rendezvous docking between the two flight vehicles in the space in the zero gravity environment is implemented, and as a result, it is possible to perform more various logic verification tests for rendezvous docking by mimicking the rendezvous docking by using actual objects.

Coupling body devices, including methods of making the same, are provided and described. A method of manufacturing a coupling body, for example, can include forming a tube by braiding nonmetal fibers, forming a flange by rolling inwards an end of the tube, providing a metallic connector, inserting at least one Z-pin in an end portion of the connector, and coupling the tube and the connector by inserting the Z-pin in the flange and performing a composite material forming process.

An apparatus and method of charging and housing of an unmanned vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is disclosed. The apparatus can accommodate an aircraft, and the apparatus includes a landing platform on which the aircraft lands, a housing portion to monitor state data by housing or charging the aircraft, and a sensor to assist in landing of the aircraft by allowing the aircraft to communicate with the apparatus. The apparatus enhances operational efficiency by reducing a travel time of the aircraft.

The present invention relates to a mass measurement system and method capable of precisely measuring the mass of a sample in a gravity-free environment. The mass measurement system using measurement of frequency shift of a vibrator according to the present invention includes a vibrator vibrating at a predetermined resonance frequency with a mass of a sample added thereto, a frequency counter for measuring a resonance frequency of the vibrator caused by vibration, a standard mass database for storing therein known standard masses and standard mass frequency shifts corresponding to variation in the standard masses, and a main controller for calculating a sample mass frequency shift corresponding to the added sample mass on the basis of the resonance frequency received from the frequency counter, searching the standard mass frequency shifts stored in the standard mass database, comparing the calculated sample mass frequency shift with the searched standard mass frequency shifts, extracting a predetermined standard mass, outputting the extracted standard mass as the mass of the sample, and controlling the entire system. Accordingly, the present invention can precisely measure the mass of a small-sized sample, in particular, an animal sample, in a gravity-free environment.

The mass measurement system includes a linear acceleration motion unit that is a linear motion driving source, a first load cell fastened to the linear acceleration motion unit to measure an inertial force of a sample caused by linearly accelerated motion of the 10 linear acceleration motion unit, a second load cell fastened to the linear acceleration motion unit while being spaced apart from the first load cell by a predetermined distance, the second load cell measuring an inertial force of a standard sample having a known standard mass caused by the linearly accelerated motion of the linear acceleration motion unit, and a main control unit for calculating and outputting mass of the sample through an arithmetic operation based on the inertial forces, measured by the first and second load cells, and the standard mass, and controlling an entire operation of the system.
