The invention relates to a terminal for an electrical connector. The terminal includes, an outer body, a connector section, a crimping section, a contact retention section, a contact receiving area, and at least one main contact spring. The connector section is positioned to receive an pin that is insertable into the terminal. An electrical conductor is attachable in an electrically conductive manner to the crimping section. The outer body is retained in the contact retention section and fitted as a separate component. The at least one main contact spring includes a free end and at least one support area, and projects into the contact receiving area for the pin. Furthermore, the at least one main contact spring provides a contact force on the pin along a main spring path extending substantially transversely to the insertion direction of the connector section. The at least one main contact spring extends substantially in the insertion direction. The free end of the at least one main contact spring is directed substantially away from a contact opening of the connector section, while the at least one support area rests against the terminal in an inserted position.

A contact element has a contact body. A contact arrangement is attached to the contact body. The contact arrangement has a spring tongue. The spring tongue has a free end with a locking face for securing the contact element in a contact housing. The locking face is movable between a locked position and an assembly position. The spring tongue has first and second retention tongues. The first retention tongue extends laterally to a longitudinal direction of the spring tongue and engages an opening in the contact body when the locking face is in the locked position. The second retention tongue extends perpendicular to the spring tongue for engagement with the contact housing when the locking face is in the locked position.

The invention relates to a connector () for detachably connecting an electrically conductive foil () to electrically conductive socket contacts () of a socket housing (), wherein the foil () can be inserted into a contact receiving aperture () of the socket contact () and can be jammed therein. Separation of connection and locking of the connector () is achieved in that, in addition to the socket housing (), the connector comprises a foil housing () and the housings () can be mutually connected, and in that prior to connection in a first foil slot () of the foil housing () and during connection via a second foil slot () of the socket housing (), the foil () can be inserted without mating force into the open contact receiving aperture () of the socket contact (), and in that the connector () can be locked and the foil () can be jammed by closing the contact receiving aperture () only after connection of the housings ().

A contact having a contact spring, a contact positioner, and a locking element. The contact spring having resilient contacts. The contact positioner receives the contact spring for connection to an electrical conductor. The locking element has a guide face with a locking side that maintains the contact in a housing. A cover covers the locking side to form a closed surface. A guide plate is integrally formed with cover and covers the lateral side of the guide face to form a closed surface. The cover and guide plate enlarge a seal opening of the housing to prevent the seal from damage by the locking element when the contact is inserted and withdrawn from the housing.

The present invention relates to an electrical connector which at least partially receives a foil with printed conductors embedded therein, and comprises an insulating housing with an insertion aperture for the foil and at least one foil contact with a contact section for contacting the printed conductors. The foil contact has a connection section for connection to an electric component and an actuating zone to receive mechanical pressure. To ensure reliable contacting and inexpensive production and simplified assembly of the components, the foil contact is bent as one piece from a punched spring sheet and has at its first contact arm an end section which is bent approximately to a U-shape, which can be brought into contact with the two contact arms by mechanical pressure. According to the invention, the connector also comprises an actuator to actuate this foil contact in which retaining webs are integrally formed which penetrate the foil when the actuator is closed. Finally, a connector is proposed in which the housing comprises a connector part and a collar part separated therefrom.

An electrical terminal having a contact-making region for making contact with a complementary contact pin and having a connecting region for connection to an electrical conductor is described, the contact-making region including an inner contact-making spring and an outer, external spring, the contact-making spring merging into a connecting region and having at least two mutually opposite contact spring arms which are supported by the external spring, the terminal further including a web which runs transversely with respect to the insertion direction is cut out on two longitudinal sides at least on a side of the external spring opposite the contact spring arms, this web being bent inwards in such a manner that it presses from the outside onto the contact spring arm.

A single piece electrical receptacle terminal is provided with a compact rigidified transition section that interconnects the connection section to the contact section. A side wall of the transition section is provided with flaps that are crimped over the opposite side wall. Extensions of the contact arms are sandwiched between the transition section side walls. A particularly rigid and compact transition section is thus provided. The latter also enables greater access to the connection end of the box-shaped outer body for secondary locking thereof.

An electrical receptacle contact for engaging a complementary tab terminal (not shown) comprising a contact portion and a conductor engaging portion, where the contact portion includes a body portion and at least three contact arms including a pair of spaced-apart outer contact arms extending from the body with an inner contact arm extending therebetween and the contact arms have contact surfaces thereupon for engaging a common side of the tab terminal, the receptacle contact being characterized in that the inner contact arm is supported therealong independently of the adjacent outer contact arm by a transverse support rail to provide the inner contact arm with enhanced stiffness. The contact being of simple construction, with multiple connection points established essentially independently, where the inner contact arms are independently stiffened.

A central electrical assembly with an electrical or electronics unit is specified, which can be used in particular for motor vehicles; the central electrical assembly being of modular construction. A contact supporting body forming one module and being used to accommodate contacts or plugs with contacts which produce the connection between electrical cables and the central electrical assembly, a relay and fuse box being another module, having at least one conductor track level and plug-in slots for accommodating electrical devices, the relay and fuse box and the electrical or electronics unit being connectable with a central lifting screw to the contact supporting body in such a manner that the connections are produced between the electrical cables and the central electrical assembly, in particular the conductor track levels and the plug-in slots.

A combustion chamber sensor connector comprises a conductive outer housing within which is mounted a certain length of shielded cable connected to receptacle terminals that receive pins of a sensor. A shield element extends across the inside of the outer housing to provide a shield means between the sensor and the cable leads. The shield is an injection molded conductive elastomer. Pads of a similar material are molded over portions of the terminals. Filter elements are positioned between the pads and the shield. The elastomeric shield and pads provide a shock resistant connection that is necessary for such applications. In-molding of the shield also provide a compact and cost-effective design.

Improved locking lance structure for an electrical contact having a body portion from which a locking lance is cantilevered from a base where the base is resiliently interconnected to the body portion to provide sufficient resiliency for easier seating of the contact within a passageway of a housing and sufficient resilience so that the locking lance may function to position the contact within the passageway.
