A heater and thermocouple assembly for use with a hot runner nozzle with an elongated heater body, said heater body having at least one first heating section, which in operation is positioned adjacent to the front end portion of the hot runner nozzle, and at least one second heating section which in operation is positioned adjacent to a nozzle head of the hot runner nozzle and has an at least partly annular distance section with a wall which is arranged between the first and second heating sections.

Heater and thermocouple assembly

A valve gated hot runner system that includes a single movable plate (or movable frame) that retains multiple valve pins. A linear actuator is coupled to rigid transmission elements that convey a linear motion from the actuator to several rotary components via a direct or indirect contact between at least a portion of the rigid transmission elements and the rotary components. The rigid transmission elements and the rotary components are connected to a common plate. The rotary components are further coupled to the movable plate (frame) and through their full rotation or turning lift or translate the movable plate (frame) with the valve pins to open and close the communication between hot runner nozzles and corresponding mold cavities. The actuator can be electrical, electro-magnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic.

A multi shot injection molding apparatus comprising: a stationary machine platen, a first mold plate, a first injection unit connected to a first mold plate for delivering a first molding material to a plurality of first molding cavities, a movable machine frame, a carrier coupled to a movable machine platen, a second mold plate, a second injection unit for delivering a second molding material to a plurality of second molding cavities, a rotary handling unit having a first plurality of rotary handling unit mold cavity portions n and a second plurality of rotary handling unit mold cavity portions, wherein the rotary handling unit is positionable in a first position and is configured to remove the first portions of the molded parts, a first locking mechanism, a second locking mechanism, a processing station and an ejection station.

Multi shot injection molding apparatus

A control system for a hot runner injection molding system includes a first injection molding machine controller that receives signals from injection molding machine sensors and a second hot runner apparatus controller that receives signals from hot runner apparatus sensors. A third controller that is remote from the injection molding machine controller and the hot runner apparatus controller receives data from the other controllers that is related to the signals from the aforementioned sensors and to transmit commands to the controllers that are related to the operation of the injection molding machine and the hot runner apparatus. The third controller can be linked to several first hot runner controllers and several second injection molding machine controllers. The first hot runner controllers can be provided by the same manufacturer or different manufacturers. The second injection molding machine controllers can be provided by the same manufacturer or different manufacturers.

Hot runner injection molding apparatus with additional controller

In an aspect, an injection molding machine is provided and incorporates a mold block with a plurality of sides including an injection side at which hollow parts are formed in mold cavities, a first post-mold cooling side whereat the hollow parts are cooled, and a part transfer side where parts are transferred out of the mold block. Optionally additional post-mold cooling sides are provided. A takeout structure is provided to remove the hollow parts from molding cores on the injection side, to transfer the hollow parts to the first post-mold cooling side, and to subsequently transfer the hollow parts to the part transfer side. The takeout structure holds the hollow parts by their neck portions and cools their neck portions.

Apparatus and method for injection molding and cooling pet preforms

A hot runner injection molding apparatus () includes hot runner nozzles (), a movable frame () that can be displaced between at least two positions relative to a plurality of mold cavities (), each cavity having a mold gate (). Valve pins () associated with the hot runner nozzles () are individually coupled to the movable frame () by a decouplable connector (). Disengagement devices () associated with the valve pins are activated to decouple any associated valve pin () from the movable frame (). A control system () is used to activate the disengagement devices (). In some instances a blocking element () is also activated to lock any valve pin at the mold gate or close to the mold gate. Control system () is further used to operate the blocking element (). Disengagement devices () and the blocking elements () can be the same or different.

Injection molding apparatus with active valve pin disengagement

A hot runner nozzle assembly includes a nozzle heater, a hot runner nozzle, a nozzle tip, a nozzle tip seal surrounding the nozzle tip and a connecting element positioned to removably couple the tip seal to the nozzle tip and to create a first contact seal between the nozzle tip and the tip seal and a second annular contact seal between the tip seal and a mold component. The nozzle tip is made or shaped via a sintering process from a metal matrix composite (MMC) material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion. The tip seal is made or shaped from a ceramic based powder material, having a second coefficient of thermal expansion that is different from the first coefficient of thermal expansion. In operation this hot runner nozzle assembly provides an improved heat profile and a reduced leakage at the tip area under a wider operating processing window.
