A fluid dispensing apparatus includes a housing member inner wall partly surrounding an inner chamber region, an inner fluid port in fluid communication with an open region; a fluid communication passageway disposed outside the inner chamber region and in fluid communication with the open region; a wall fluid port fluidly connecting a fluid communication region and the inner chamber region; and a closure element selectively limiting fluid flow through the inner fluid port; the housing member connected to a valve assembly including an elongate valve stem with a respective stem axis and a stem housing, the stem housing having a stem housing fluid communication region in fluid communication with the fluid communication passageway and connectable to an inner stem channel, the stem housing having a gas communication region fluidly connectable to the inner stem channel so that a fluid and a gas are mixable in the inner stem channel.

Fluid dispensing

An aerosol spray device comprising a pressurised or pressurisable container and a spray discharge assembly mounted on the container. The spray discharge assembly comprises a valve stem moveable from a first limit position to a second limit position to effect spray discharge from the device, a spray outlet region having an outlet orifice from which fluid from the container is discharged, and a flow conduit for supplying fluid from the container to the spray outlet region. The flow conduit has at least one first inlet for liquid from the container and at least one second inlet at the same distance along the conduit as the first inlet(s) or downstream of the first inlet(s) for propellant gas from a headspace of the container. A valving arrangement is adapted such that movement of the valve stem from its first to second limit position opens the first and the second inlets to cause a bubble laden flow to be created in the flow conduit and movement of the valve stem back to its first limit position closes the first and second inlets.

Aerosol spray device

An aerosol spray device comprising a pressurized or pressurizable container and a spray discharge assembly mounted on the container. The spray discharge assembly comprises a valve stem moveable from a first limit position to a second limit position to effect spray discharge from the device, a spray outlet region having an outlet orifice from which fluid from the container is discharged, and a flow conduit for supplying fluid from the container to the spray outlet region. The flow conduit has at least one first inlet for liquid from the container and at least one second inlet at the same distance along the conduit as the first inlet(s) or downstream of the first inlet(s) for propellant gas from a headspace of the container. A valving arrangement is adapted such that movement of the valve stem from its first to second limit position opens the first and the second inlets to cause a bubble laden flow to be created in the flow conduit and movement of the valve stem back to its first limit position closes the first and second inlets.

A spray discharge assembly is provided for use with an aerosol spray device comprising a pressurizable container holding a liquid to be discharged from the device by a propellant. The spray discharge assembly incorporates an approach channel having at least one inlet and an outlet, a flow conduit upstream of the approach channel in the direction of liquid discharge for supplying fluid to be discharged to the approach channel, at least one jetting orifice through which fluid from the conduit passes and issues as a jet into the approach channel through the inlet thereof, and a discharge orifice into which fluid from the approach channel passes via the outlet thereof to issue as a spray from the device. The outlet of the approach channel is surrounded by a sharp edge, and the jetting orifice is configured for directing the jet against the sharp edge.

Spray discharge assembly

An aerosol spray device comprising a pressurized or pressurizable container and a spray discharge assembly mounted on the container. The spray discharge assembly comprises a valve stem moveable from a first limit position to a second limit position to effect spray discharge from the device, a spray outlet region having an outlet orifice from which fluid from the container is discharged, and a flow conduit for supplying fluid from the container to the spray outlet region. The flow conduit has at least one first inlet for liquid from the container and at least one second inlet at the same distance along the conduit as the first inlet(s) or downstream of the first inlet(s) for propellant gas from a headspace of the container. A valving arrangement is adapted such that movement of the valve stem from its first to second limit position opens the first and the second inlets to cause a bubble laden flow to be created in the flow conduit and movement of the valve stem back to its first limit position closes the first and the second inlets.

A discharge assembly apparatus for discharging a metered volume of a liquid when used in combination with a liquid-containing, pressurized or pressurizable container includes an actuator assembly incorporating a valve stem having a discharge conduit arrangement with an inlet and an outlet, a metering chamber formed within the valve stem and incorporating a liquid discharge element, an inlet/outlet arrangement, and a housing wherein the valve stem and the inner surface of the housing define a fluid transfer passageway therebetween, the discharge conduit arrangement of the valve stem providing communication between the outlet of the metering chamber and the outlet of the valve stem via the fluid transfer passageway.

Liquid dispensing apparatus

A discharge assembly for discharging a metered volume of a liquid held in a pressured container includes an elongate tubular housing, a valve stem having a body locating within the housing, a chamber provided within the body of the valve stem and having a liquid inlet, and a liquid discharge element moveable along the chamber from a liquid primed position to a liquid discharged position to effect discharge of the metered volume of liquid, wherein a second fluid transfer passageway is formed along the outside of the valve stem between the inlet of the housing and the first fluid transfer passageway, and a seal is provided for relative sliding movement onto a seat as the valve stem moves to close the second fluid transfer passageway to fluid flow.

The present invention provides a valving arrangement device for an aerosol spray device comprising a pressurized or pressurizable container which, when in its fully open configuration, has a loss coefficient of 10 or less. There is also provided a valving arrangement device for an aerosol spray device wherein, when in its fully open configuration, said valving arrangement is such that fluid passes from the upstream fluid flow path section into the downstream fluid flow path section with any change of the cross-sectional area of the fluid being less than 50% and with any change in direction of the flow being less than 40&#xb0;.
