A method for operating user equipment (UE) includes generating, by the UE, a transmit precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) list including one or more TPMIs selected from a set of available TPMIs stored at a base station (BS). Data indicative of the TPMI list is transmitted to the BS. An index of the TPMI list is transmitted to the BS. Downlink control information (DCI) is received from the BS including an indication of at least one TPMI from the TPMI list based on the index. Uplink data is transmitted to the BS on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using the at least one TPMI.

Full power uplink transmission enhancement

This disclosure relates to techniques for performing wireless communications including exchanging information related to capability of processing reference signals. A user equipment device may provide capability information to a network. The capability information may indicate a number of reference signal resources that the user equipment device can process in a slot or other defined period of time. The user equipment device and the network may share a common set of definitions, counting rules, and approaches for interpreting the capability information. The network may configure reference signals for the user equipment device.

Resource counting for reference signals

Systems and methods are provided for to support user equipment (UE) channel state information (CSI) report of time domain channel properties. Embodiments of a UE herein may receive, from a network node, a CSI report configuration (CSI-ReportConfig). The CSI-ReportConfig may comprise details regarding measurement and reporting of time domain channel properties (TDCP) based on a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) for tracking reference signal (TRS). The UE may determine invalid CSI-RS resources and valid CSI-RS resources based on a timing of a duplex direction change. The UE may measure and report TDCP based on the valid CSI-RS resources.

Phase continuity handling for a UE CSI report of time domain channel properties measurements

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for multi-TRP by a UE, including out of order delivery of PDSCH, PUSCH, and/or DL ACK/NACK. The UE may receive, from a base station, a configuration that may include multiple control resource set (CORESET) pools and each CORESET pool may be associated with an index value. The UE may determine that at least two DCIs of the multiple DCIs end at a common symbol and determine, based on one or more predetermined rules, when the UE may be scheduled to receive PDSCHs, transmit PUSCHs, and/or transmit ACK/NACKs from CORESETs associated with the at least two DCIs.

MIMO enhancement capability design

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing capability signaling design for 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) release 15 (Rel-15) and/or release 16 (Rel-16) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) enhancement. For example, systems and methods are provided implementing designs for New Radio (NR) MIMO channel state information (CSI) for a small bandwidth part (BWP) and/or a small number of subbands. For example, some aspects relate to a user equipment (UE) including a transceiver configured to communicate with a base station and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor receives, from the base station, a CSI reporting configuration message. The processor determines, using the CSI reporting configuration message, that a number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) of a BWP associated with the CSI reporting configuration message is less than a threshold number. The processor also generates and transmits a CSI report for the BWP.

Radio (NR) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channel state information (CSI) design for small bandwidth part (BWP)

Methods and systems are for configuring multi-user multiple-input multiple output (MU-MIMO) operation by a base station and a plurality of UEs include requesting sounding reference signals (SRS) or channel state information (CSI) data from each UE of the plurality; configuring, based on the SRS or CSI data from each UE, a precoder matrix, the precoder matrix allocating a plurality of precoded CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) resources for each UE; scheduling, for each UE, the precoded CSI-RS resources; receiving, from each UE, a CQI report that is based on the precoded CSI-RS resources received by that respective UE; generating a CQI matrix from the CQI reports of each UE; selecting a subset of UEs from the plurality based on the CQI matrix; and scheduling DL resources for the subset of UEs, the DL resources including reference signals.

Enhancement to multi-user MIMO by channel state information reporting

The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods to perform CSI-reporting. In an example, a BWP includes 'M' subbands and is configured to the UE. The UE can process “Kc” CSI-RS samples to generate “M” subband CSI reports, where “Kc>M.” The UE determines what number of CSI-RS samples to use per subband based on the channel information of the BWP, where this number can vary between the subbands.

Subband channel state information reporting

This disclosure relates to techniques for a wireless device to perform channel state information reporting. The wireless device may receive channel state information reporting configuration information. The channel state information reporting configuration information may include an indication to use a wideband precoding matrix indicator format for 3GPP release 16 type II channel state information reporting. The wireless device may perform channel state information reporting using a different reporting configuration than 3GPP release 16 type II channel state information reporting using a wideband precoding matrix indicator format based at least in part on the channel state information reporting configuration information. The wireless device may also or alternatively perform 3GPP type I channel state information reporting using a unified spatial basis selection framework for rank indicators of 3 and 4 for any number of channel state information reference signal ports.

Channel state information reporting

An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) to receive a channel state information (CSI) reporting configuration message from a source device of a first cell and receive a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) from a second cell via the source device. The UE determines a first number of CSI-RS resources of a first time slot duration corresponding to the first cell, a second number of CSI-RS resources of a second time slot duration corresponding to the second cell, an overall time slot duration based on the first and the second time slot duration, an overall number of CSI-RS resources of the overall time slot duration based at least on the first and the second number of CSI-RS resource, generates a capability report at least based on the overall number of CSI-RS resource, and transmits the capability report to the source device.

Radio (NR) channel state information (CSI) capability related signaling enhancement

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing channel state information (CSI) reporting that includes a stale CSI report. Based at least in part on a CSI reporting configuration, a user equipment (UE) performs CSI measurements during a current reference time period, and generates one or more CSI reports including at least a stale CSI report. A stale CSI report is generated based at least in part on CSI measurements performed prior to the current reference time period. The UE further generates an uplink message including the one or more CSI reports, and transmits the uplink message to the base station under a reporting setting determined by the CSI reporting configuration.

Channel state information (CSI) reporting including a stale CSI report

A base station and wireless communication (UE) may perform type II CSI-RS port selection based at least on partial reciprocity between an uplink path and a downlink path between the base station and the UE. The base station may identify dominant signal paths between the base station and the UE, based on measurements performed during uplink transmissions, and may transmit, to the UE, corresponding information indicative of CSI measurement and reporting configuration that may include a single measurement resource or multiple measurement resources. Each measurement resource may include multiple-port CSI-RS ports. The UE may indicate, to the base station, selection of a measurement resource when multiple measurement resources are configured, and may also report layer independent or layer common selection of a subset of CSI-RS ports included in the indicated single measurement resource or multiple measurement resources. Further enhancements include frequency domain compression enhancement and dynamic codebook parameter reconfiguration.

Type II CSI port selection codebook enhancement with partial reciprocity

A user equipment (UE) transmits concurrent channel state information (CSI) processing capability information to a base station. The capability information can take various forms, and is intended to constrain the base station in the types of CSI requests that can be made to the UE. For example, the UE may indicate different CSI processing capabilities for intra-CC and inter-CC cases and/or for different codebook types. The UE may also specify supported combinations of codebook types for concurrent CSI reporting. The UE may also specify maximum resources or weighting factors for different codebook types. The UE may further restrict the rank information it provides and use a priority rule for 'dropping' CSI report data due to payload size restrictions. The base station may direct, or the UE may implement, improved utilization of CSI resources that are shared for multiple concurrent CSI reports. Minimum time requirements for CSI reporting may also be relaxed.
