According to an aspect, there is provided a method for execution by a SEAL (Service Enabler Architecture Layer) service server of a network. The method involves determining a communication policy based on at least one KPI (Key Performance Indicator). The method also involves communicating, via the network, with a SEAL client of a communications device, in accordance with the communication policy. In some implementations, the SEAL service server is part of a SEAL layer, and the method also involves receiving feedback from a VASEAL (Vertical Application Service Enabling Architecture Layer) layer which is separate from the SEAL layer, and controlling the VASEAL layer and/or adjusting the communication policy based in part on the feedback. Thus, method can enable control on the network towards a SEAL layer which can allow capabilities of the SEAL layer to be extended to consume VASEAL layer information and provide control to the VASEAL layer.

Method and apparatus for interacting between vertical application layer and service enabler architecture layer

A technique for performing Quality of Service, QoS, control regarding control messages communicated from a robot controller to a robot via a mobile communication network in a cloud robotics system is disclosed. A method implementation of the technique comprises triggering applying a mapping of control messages communicated from the robot controller to the robot to QoS classes among a plurality of data session related QoS classes supported by the mobile communication network for transmission of traffic via the mobile communication network, wherein each of the control messages is mapped to a respective QoS class depending on a Quality of Control, QoC, tolerance associated with the respective control message.

Technique for performing QoS control in a cloud robotics system

An apparatus for parameter transformation between a robotic device and a controller for the robotic device is presented. The apparatus is configured to receive at least one non-transformed parameter indicative of at least one of a position and a velocity of or for the robotic device, wherein the non-transformed parameter is received from the robotic device or the controller, respectively. The apparatus is further configured to transform the received non-transformed parameter to a transformed parameter using a transformation between an ideal parameter domain of the controller and a real parameter domain of the robotic device, the ideal parameter domain including ideal parameters processable by the controller and the real parameter domain including real parameters measurable at the robotic device and capable of deviating from the associated ideal parameters. The apparatus is further configured to transmit the transformed parameter to the other one of the robotic device and the controller, A method, a system, a computer-program product and a cloud computing system for parameter transformation are presented also.

Technique for parameter conversion between a robotic device and a controller for the robotic device

The invention relates to a method for controlling a robotic device () with modified control commands transmitted over a wireless network, wherein the robotic device () comprises a plurality of joints (), wherein each joint represents one degree of freedom of the robotic device, the method comprising at a trajectory modification entity (): —determining a load of the wireless network (), —receiving a plurality of control commands controlling a planned trajectory of the robotic device () from a robotic control entity (), each of the control commands configured to control one degree of freedom of a first number of degrees of freedom addressed by the plurality of control commands, —determining a reduced number of degrees of freedom for the modified control commands smaller than the first number based on the determined load, —determining the modified control commands based on the reduced number of degrees of freedom, wherein the modified control commands address a limited number of degrees of freedom not higher than the reduced number of degrees of freedom, —transmitting the modified control commands instead of the received plurality of control commands to the robotic device ().

Control of robotic devices over a wireless network

A device () is arranged on a source side of a wireless link () and receives data traffic from one or more source devices (). The device () forwards the data traffic via the wireless link () and via a further device (), which is arranged on a destination side of the wireless link (), towards one or more destination devices (). The device () receives redundancy information from the further device (). The redundancy information indicates redundant payload which is common to multiple data frames in the data traffic forwarded by the device (). Based on the redundancy information, the device () removes the indicated redundant payload from at least a part of the data traffic to be forwarded by the device ().

Redundancy control for data traffic through a wireless link

An entity in a telecommunications network determines a threshold value relating to a channel switching parameter that is being used by the telecommunications network to trigger a channel switching operation, and uses this threshold value and monitored traffic information to prevent a channel change from occurring, i.e. to maintain channel occupancy. A network node is adapted to remove additional traffic that has been generated by an entity in the telecommunications network to maintain channel occupancy.

Apparatus and method in a telecommunications network

Multiple packet traffic profiling models are created from known packet traffic flows that are labeled, where a label is an actual value of a factor influencing one or more characteristics of the known packet traffic flow. Features, which are different from the factors, are measured for each flow. Flow clusters are defined from the labeled traffic flows by processing their features and labels. The profiling models are created based on cluster information. When an unknown packet flow is received, the multiple packet traffic profiling models are evaluated according to a confidence and a completeness associated with each of the packet traffic profiling models. The packet traffic profiling model with a predetermined confidence and completeness is selected and applied to profile the unknown packet traffic flow.
