The invention relates to an overspeed governor tension sheave assembly in an elevator comprising at least an elevator car arranged to run along the guide rails and controlled by a speed governor assembly that is coupled to the elevator car through a governor rope forming a closed loop running over a governor sheave, and under a governor tension sheave being a part of the overspeed governor tension sheave assembly. The overspeed governor tension sheave assembly is equipped with a monitoring device that has indicating means for indicating the need for adjustment the position of the overspeed governor tension sheave assembly.

An elevator alignment tool includes a longitudinal frame having rollers being configured to run along the surface of a guide rail of an elevator construction, which frame includes a bias device for biasing the frame against the guide rail and a connecting part configured to be connected to an elevator car or an installation time platform, which tool further includes a laser mounted to the frame. This alignment tool allows an easy alignment of new guide rails to be installed during elevator installation or an easy verification of the guide rail alignment of a ready built elevator construction.

The invention concerns an arrangement in the supply of rope to the speed limiter of an elevator. The arrangement comprises at least a braking device for braking the rope being supplied to the speed limiter. As new rope is being fed to the speed limiter, the new rope has been fitted to run via the braking device and under a diverting pulley in the lower part of the elevator shaft and passed further from the diverting pulley over an upper speed limiter pulley to act on the safety gear of the elevator.

The object of the invention is a method for installing the hoisting roping of an elevator, in which method the hoisting roping of the elevator is lifted upwards into the elevator hoistway by means of a hoisting device. The object of the invention is a method for installing an elevator, in which method the guide rails of the car are installed by fixing the guide rail sections into position from the bottom upwards. After installation into position of the lowermost guide rail section at least one working platform is built between the guide rails of the lowermost guide rail section, the guide rails of the second guide rail section are fixed as an extension of the guide rails of the lowermost guide rail section using the working platform as an aid, diverting pulleys are fixed to the top ends of the guide rails of the second guide rail section, a hoist and the rope suspension of the working platform are fitted to the working platform, in which rope suspension the hoisting rope is led at its first end from the hoist over the diverting pulleys and under the diverting pulleys that are in connection with the working platform to its fixing point of the second end on the working platform, and the working platform is lifted to the next working height by means of the hoist and is locked into position.

An arrangement and a method are provided for positioning the alignment plumb lines of the guide rails of an elevator, more particularly when installing an elevator during the construction phase of a building. The solution includes at least actuators fixed above the guide rails for moving at least the parts of the alignment plumb lines above the guide rails for positioning the alignment plumb lines.
