An ultrasound imaging system includes a transducer array () with a plurality of transducer elements () configured to transmit a pulsed field beam into a scan field of view, receive echo signals produced in response to the pulsed field interacting with particles/structure flowing/moving in the scan field of view, and generate electrical signals indicative of the echo signals. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a beamformer () including multiple synthetic transmit aperture beamformers configured to process the electrical signals over a plurality of processing channels () into corresponding receive-beams of RF-data with a beam-level delay, channel-level delays, a beam-level gain and channel-level gains. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a velocity processor () configured to estimate a flow velocity of the structure flowing in the scan field of view from the RF-data. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a rendering engine () configured to display the flow velocity estimate on a display () with color-coding.

High resolution compound ultrasound flow imaging

An ultrasound imaging system () includes a velocity processor () that processes ultrasound data representing structure flowing through a tubular object and generates vector flow imaging information indicative of the structure flowing through a tubular object based thereon. The vector flow imaging information includes an axial velocity component signal and a lateral component signal, and the axial and lateral component signals indicate a direction and a speed of the structure flowing through the tubular object. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a flow parameter processor () that determines at least one flow parameter based on the vector flow imaging information and generates a signal indicative thereof.

Ultrasound vector flow imaging (VFI) with curve tracing

A system () includes an acquisition engine () that acquires ultrasound data for two or more modes with a first acquisition algorithm, including an image mode and a special mode. A rendering engine () employs a first rendering algorithm and displays the image in a main display window () and the special mode ultrasound data in a viewport () superimposed over the main display window. The acquisition engine acquires ultrasound data for the special mode using a second acquisition algorithm and the rendering engine displays a first portion of the generated special mode ultrasound data over the main display window and a second portion of the generated special mode ultrasound data over the viewport using a second rendering algorithm in response to the system receiving an input signal indicative of a movement of the viewport from a first location of the main display window to a second different position of the main display window.

Display of imaging data in a moving viewport

An ultrasound imaging system includes an ultrasound transducer that receives an echo signal generated in response to an ultrasound signal transmitted by the system interacting with a moving material. Receive circuitry processes the echo signal and produces an electrical signal indicative thereof. Front end electronics amplify and digitize the electrical signal producing M-bit RF data. A beamformer that processes the M-bit RF data and generates N-bit high dynamic range beamformed data. N is greater than M. The system further includes pre-processing circuitry that converts the N-bit data RF to 2&#xd7;K-bit I/Q data. K is less than M. A velocity processor determines a phase estimate of the moving material from the I/Q data. A rendering engine visually presents the phase estimate.

High dynamic range ultrasound flow imaging system

A method includes concurrently exciting neighboring pairs of transducer elements of an array for at least two transmits, wherein the array has a focus in a range of ten to twenty centimeters with a f-number of five or less. The method further includes receiving first echoes with individual transducer elements of a first sub-set of the transducer elements for a first of the at least two transmits, and receiving second echoes with individual transducer elements of a second sub-set of the transducer elements for a second of the at least two transmits. The method further includes extracting second harmonics from the echoes of the at least two transmits. The method further includes beamforming the extracted second harmonics. The method further includes generating an image based on the beamformed extracted second harmonics.

Ultrasound imaging

An ultrasound imaging system includes a transducer array, with an array of transducer elements that transmits an ultrasound signal and receives a set of echoes generated in response to the ultrasound signal traversing a flowing structure. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a beamformer that beamforms the set of echoes, generating a beamformed signal. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a pre-processor that performs basebanding, averaging and decimation of the beamformed signal and determines an autocorrelation of the basebanded, averaged and decimated beamformed signal. The ultrasound imaging system further includes a velocity processor that generates an axial velocity component signal and a lateral velocity component signal based on the autocorrelation. The axial and lateral velocity components indicate a direction and a speed of the flowing structure in the field of view.

Velocity estimation for vector flow imaging (VFI) in ultrasound

An ultrasound imaging console includes receive circuitry that receives a set of echoes produced in response to an ultrasound signal traversing blood flowing in a portion of a vessel in a field of view, a beamformer that beamforms the echoes, a velocity processor that determines flow direction and magnitude of the flowing blood based on the beamformed echoes, and a rendering engine that displays the determined flow direction and magnitude.
