A staple wire cutting element (4) is mounted displaceably on a stapling device (1) in which staple wire segments are shaped into a staple and driven into a sheet stack. A control lever (8) that is in engagement with a radial cam unit (6) engages the cutting element (4). The radial cam unit (6) is driven via an overrunning clutch (10), one end of which has a gear (11) which is fixed to the radial cam unit (6) and engages into a gear (5b) of a stepping motor (5). The other end of the overrunning clutch (10) has a gear (12) which is fixed to a transport wheel (13) for staple wire transport. A gear (27), which is mounted displaceably along its rotation axis and is mounted rotatably about the same rotation axis as the gear (5a), engages into the gear (12). The gears (5b, 27) are equipped at their sides facing one another with tooth sets (28). For backward transport of the wire segment which is ready for staple shaping, the displaceable gear (27) is brought into engagement with the gear (5b), thus allowing the wire to be transported backward, bypassing the overrunning clutch (10).

Stapling device

A staple wire supply roll is positioned on a threading-in device that can be moved out of a stapling apparatus, and the leading end of the wire is transported by means of a thread-in transport device, through a flexible guide tube, to a stapling device. A sensor positioned on the stapling device signals the end of the threading-in operation when the leading end of the staple wire passes by. By pushing the threading-in device into the apparatus, the staple wire transport device of the stapling device is set in motion, as a result of which the leading end of the staple wire is transported to a location which positions the leading end of the wire in device. The staple wire is transported, in accordance with the thickness of the sheet stack measured by a sensor, by a stepping motor, which at the same time drives a radial cam unit. The radial cam unit moves a cutting device into a position in which the transported staple wire segment is positioned symmetrically with respect to a shaper and driver of the stapling device and cut, and then shaped into a staple and driven into the sheet stack.

Method and device for preparing, manipulating, and processing a staple

A delivery unit (1) of a copying apparatus is equipped with a paper delivery tray (2), provided in a top cover (4). The paper delivery tray (2) consists of at least one inclined delivery surface (2a, 2b) for a sheet stack, an output slot (10) formed by paper output rollers (8), and a paper contact surface (6) arranged after the output slot (10). A bar (12), which fits around the output slot (10) and can be pivoted onto the sheet stack (5) located on the delivery surface on the basis of a signal form the copying apparatus, is provided in a wall (7) of the paper delivery tray.

Automatic film-loading device for sheet film cassettes

In a guiding device for aligning sheets of paper (13) being stacked in a stacking tray (11) to which the sheets (13) are fed by means of a feeding mechanism (3, 5), deflectable fenders (25 and 26) are provided which are suspended from a mounting element (27) located above the path of the sheets and which extend into the path of each sheet (13), and are contacted and deflected by such sheet. The deflected fenders (25, 26) exert pressure on the contacting surface of the sheet so that the sheet when released by the feeding mechanism (3, 5) enters the stacking tray (11) from above in a controlled manner. At least one (26) of the fenders (25, 26) takes the form of a loop consisting of a flexible web (28) whose two ends are united and suspended from the mounting element (27). As suspended, the flexible loop makes and maintains large area contact with the sheet until stacked resulting in sheets aligned laterally with respect to one another in the stack.

Guiding device for stacking sheets of paper

An apparatus for facilitating depositing copy sheets in a collecting bin (6, 15) which, in the sheet entry direction, is arranged in a downwardly inclined position and is provided with a stop member (14) associated with the leading portion of the sheets. The trailing portion of the sheets is associated with guide element (19, 30) directing the incoming sheets onto the top of the sheet stack already deposited. Above the sheet stack (23, 23a) rollers (22, 26) are arranged which are driven in sheet entry direction and associated with the trailing portion of the sheet and whose surface area facing the sheet stack (23, 23a) lines beneath the entry plane of the sheets defined by the guide elements (19, 30) to the extent that also in the case of curled sheets it confines the top of the sheet stack (23, 23a) in a position beneath the sheet entry plane keeping the feed path open. The rollers include stationary rollers (22) associated with a first guide element (19) and rollers (26), pivoted parallel to rollers (22), associated with a second guide element (30) and in the pivotal path of the first guide element (19). The guide elements (19, 30) can be selectively moved to a position in which they extend upward beyond the sheet stack (23, 23a) so as to form a ramp.
