In a method and a strip treatment installation, in particular a strip rolling mill train or a strip rolling stand, to avoid strip stickers, as the material is being wound up the distribution of the radial pressure exerted by the strip on the coiler drum or a winding reel is measured over the strip width, then the measured values are used to produce a reproduction of the actual local stress distribution in the strip, and this reproduction is used as a template for a set curve for controlling the strip tensile stress distribution, on the basis of which actuators of the strip treatment installation are adjusted with a view to achieving a uniform compressive stress distribution.

Method and strip processing line, especially a strip rolling mill train or strip rolling mill stand for preventing band sticking during winding

The invention relates to a method and a device for the rolling or winding of strip having an equal thickness over the strip width, in which the tension in a strip length portion limited by rolls, winders, or control, guide or deflecting rollers is measured by means of a measuring roller. In order, in this case, to obtain more accurate measurement values and keep disturbing stresses away from the measuring point, between the measuring roller and an assembly (roll, winder, or control, guide or deflecting roller) causing disturbing stresses in the strip, a partitioning device for absorbing the disturbing stresses is arranged.

Method and device for the rolling or winding of strip

A measuring roller for determining flatness deviations when rolling metal strip measures the stress distribution, for example, with the aid of force measuring sensors over the width of the strip, said sensors being arranged in recesses in the measuring roller at a distance from the wall of the recess and thus being surrounded by an annular gap. The annular gap is closed off to the outside and connected to axially parallel ducts for the feed and discharge of a coolant.

In a process for presetting the adjusting-member positions of a roll stand upon the rolling of a new coil or for the next pass in each case during cold rolling of bands, adjusting-member positions for the band flatness are used that are based on the corresponding actual data of the first pass of a reference coil, whose reference data results in the best correspondence with the target data of the new coil, or on the actual data of the preceding pass. At the same time, the band thickness can be preset by the specification of a rolling force or adjustment position adapted over a certain time period from the actual data of reference conditions of the roll stand or the rolling mill train.

In an apparatus for straightening metal strip comprising guide rolls arranged parallel to one another a straightening roll is arranged in the gusset space between two guide rolls which has the strip wrapped round it in a form-fitting manner between two lines of contact along which the guide rolls are in indirect contact with the straightening roll. This makes it possible to straighten even high-strength strip without the need to apply tensile loads which exceed the magnitude needed to transport the strip through the apparatus.

Apparatus for bend-straightening metal strip

A deflecting roller for sensing the distribution of stress along the roller while the roller deflects a strip of sheet material, and in particular, a deflecting roller having a plurality of stress sensors disposed around the roller such that the stress sensors sense the radially acting force on the roller, without contributing any interfering forces thereto. The roller has a plurality of measuring locations defined about the circumference of the roller. Each measurement location includes a recess in the roller; a stress-responsive sensor disposed in the recess; and a sensor cover positioned within the recess so as to cover the stress-responsive sensor. The sensor cover has the same cross sectional shape as the recess so that the sensor cover is guided by the wall of the recess for radial movement with respect to the roller. The sensor cover does not rest on a shoulder in the recess. Instead, an inside surface of the sensor cover bears against one end of the stress-responsive sensor, while the outside surface of the sensor cover is convex to match the circumferential shape of the roller. In operation, when the measuring roller acts to deflect a piece of sheet metal, the sensor cover is forced further into the recess by the piece of sheet metal, and as a result, the sensor cover compresses the stress-responsive sensor between the bottom of the recess and the inside surface of the sensor cover.

A deflection measuring roller includes mutually non-rotatable rings having orce sensors for determining the stress distribution of undirected, flexible strips. A receiving chamber is made of a window which is formed in the material of the annular wall and within which the force sensor and wedge are provided.

In a method for cold-rolling sheets and strips, measured values which characterize the surface evenness, especially the tensile stress distribution, are formed on the delivery side of a rolling mill and, in dependence thereon, adjusting members of the rolling mill are actuated which form part of at least one regulating circuit for the surface evenness of the rolled sheets and strips. Incorrect adjustments and disruptions in the rolling process on the basis of the different time responses of the individual adjusting members are avoided by adjusting the adjusting members at speeds so matched to one another that during at least a portion of the adjusting time, the ratio of the adjustments of the participating adjusting members remains constant, and all adjusting members reach their desired values simultaneously.

A device for measuring stress distribution across the width of flexible litudinally moving strip material, such as strip steel during coldrolling. The device includes a deflection measuring roller comprised of a plurality of rotatable sections mounted side-by-side. Some of the sections have force pick-ups fitted therein and the elements cooperatively function to detect and measure deflection as an indication of stress distribution across the strip.
