The invention relates to the field of chemistry and to the blends that can by way of example be used for rolls and roll coverings in the printing, textile, paper and graphic industry. The problem addressed by the present invention is provision of blends that have improved physical properties, and of a simple low-cost process with low energy consumption for producing same. The problem is solved via blends of thermoplastic polyurethanes and rubbers, consisting of rubber and from 5 to 80% by weight of thermoplastic polyurethanes, where the materials intermesh with one another in the regions of contact between rubber and polyurethanes. The problem is further solved via a process in which at least one rubber and from 5 to 80% by weight of polyurethane precursors are mixed and homogenized, where the precursors are prepolymers made of polyisocyanate(s) and of macroglyeol(s) and at least one chain extender, and/or monomers of polyisocyanates, of macroglycols and of chain extenders.

Blends of thermoplastic polyurethanes and rubbers and process for producing same

The present invention relates to rubber or elastomer compositions as can be used for vehicle tires, and to a method for the production of the rubber or elastomer compositions. The elastic modulus of the compositions can be adapted depending on the temperature and/or the application conditions, and is a cost-effective and easily implemented method for the production of the compositions. The rubber or elastomer compositions contain at least one rubber or elastomer matrix and at least 20 to 150 phr of a phase change material in solid or liquid form. The compositions may be made by mixing the at least one rubber and the at least 20 to 150 phr of a phase change material in solid or liquid form, or the at least one rubber is at least brought into contact with the phase change material, and further processing steps can be performed, and a vulcanization can be performed.

Rubber or elastomer compositions and processes for their manufacturing

An elastomeric composition that has a high tensile strength and high hardness is produced by a method that is cost-efficient and easy to carry out. The object is attained by an elastomeric composition that contains at least one base elastomer, at least one hydrophilic polymer, and at least one inorganic salt. The object is furthermore attained by a method for producing an elastomeric composition in which at least one rubber, at least one hydrophilic polymer and at least one inorganic salt are mixed and subsequently vulcanized, the elastomeric composition is then at least partially brought into contact with water, and afterwards the water is at least partially removed from the elastomeric composition. The elastomeric composition according to the invention can, for example, be used in vehicles and machines as a seal, grommet, disc, coupling or membrane.

Elastomeric composition and process for its preparation

The invention relates to the field of chemistry and concerns a method suitable for example for use in the automotive industry or in aircraft construction. The object of the present invention is to provide a method by which a bonding of the regions of the plastics that are in direct contact is accomplished. The object is achieved by a method for bonding plastics in which materials which contain at least one electrically conductive material and only partially cover the plastics are applied to at least one of the plastics to be bonded, then the plastics are brought into contact with one another, at least in the region with the materials, and after that at least this region is exposed at least once to an alternating electromagnetic field.

Method for bonding plastics and method for releasing a bond in the plastic composite and a plastic composite

The invention is concerned with the field of polymer chemistry and relates to elastomeric materials as usable, for example, as an inner liner material for motor vehicle tires, and to the use thereof. The problem addressed by the present invention consists in specifying elastomeric materials having relatively low gas permeability. The problem is solved by elastomeric materials comprising butyl and/or halobutyl rubbers or mixtures thereof, with 1 to 20 phr of at least one liquid imidazolium salt and with 1 to 40 phr of at least one filler having a graphitic structure. The problem is additionally solved by the use of the inventive elastomeric materials for elastomer materials having low to very low gas permeability.

Elastomeric materials and use thereof

An apparatus for the continuous modification of polymers in the flowable state by electron radiation, includes a device configured for converting polymers into the flowable state, a forming device and at least one irradiation device structured and arranged to provide electron radiation in a region of irradiation. Additionally, the apparatus includes at least one cooling device, a radiation guard and supply and discharge lines inside the radiation guard. The supply and discharge lines realize a continuous transport of the polymers in the flowable state at least through the radiation guard into the region of irradiation. Additionally, the supply and discharge lines realize a continuous transport of one of polymers remaining in the flowable state and modified at least inside the radiation guard and solid formed and modified polymers out of the region of the irradiation.

Apparatus for the continuous modification of polymers in the free-flowing state by means of electron radiation

A sulfur-curable rubber compound for a tire tread rubber of, in particular, a racing tire, which compound comprises at least one diene rubber, at least one filler and at least one plasticizer. The rubber compound comprises 5 to 90 phr of at least one layered silicate modified with alkylammonium ions and free of guest molecules that have been polymerized or swelled in by a prior treatment.

Rubber compound for tire tread rubber

A filler for unvulcanized rubber mixtures includes a surface which has been modified with a stimuli-sensitive substance. A process for making an unvulcanized rubber mixture including at least one rubber, aggregate, and at least one filler, wherein a surface of the at least one filler has been modified with a stimuli-sensitive substance. The process includes coating a surface of at least one filler with a stimuli-sensitive substance to form at least one coated filler, and mixing the at least one coated filler with unvulcanized rubber and aggregate. A rubber product formed from an unvulcanized rubber mixture includes at least one rubber, aggregate, and at least one filler, wherein a surface of the at least one filler has been modified with a stimuli-sensitive substance. Vulcanized rubber including a rubber matrix comprising aggregate and at least one rubber, and at least one filler, wherein a surface of the at least one filler has been modified so as to form a stimuli-sensitive rubber mixture with the rubber matrix surrounding the at least one filler. A process for making vulcanized rubber including a rubber matrix which includes aggregate and at least one rubber, and at least one filler, wherein a surface of the at least one filler has been modified so as to form a stimuli-sensitive rubber mixture with the rubber matrix surrounding the at least one filler. The process includes coating a surface of at least one filler with unvulcanized rubber to form at least one coated filler, mixing the at least one coated filler with unvulcanized rubber and aggregate to form an unvulcanized rubber mixture, and vulcanizing the unvulcanized rubber mixture.
