Various systems and methods are presented regarding automatically controlling a position of a seat belt located onboard a vehicle, wherein the position is controlled in accordance with physiology of an occupant utilizing the seat belt. By adjusting the position of the seat belt in accordance with the occupant's physiology, the seat belt system can be configured to improve operation of the seat belt in restraining the occupant during vehicle deceleration. Position of the seat belt can be controlled by a guidance device comprising a loop through which the seatbelt is fed, with the loop being positioned along at least one axis of motion. A motor can be utilized to control positioning of the loop, wherein the motor can be controlled by a system configured to receive data from one or more sensors regarding any of the occupant's physiology, operation of the seat belt, position of the loop, and suchlike.

Various systems and methods are presented regarding automatically controlling a position of a seat belt located onboard a vehicle, wherein the position is controlled in accordance with physiology of an occupant utilizing the seat belt. Position of the seat belt can be controlled by a guidance device comprising a positionable guide pin which changes alignment of the seatbelt. A motor can be utilized to control positioning of the pin, wherein the motor can be controlled by a system configured to receive data from one or more sensors regarding any of the occupant's physiology, operation of the seat belt, position of the pin, and suchlike.

Child seat monitoring system for a vehicle (e.g., using a computerized tool) is enabled. For example, a monitoring system for a child seat in a vehicle can comprise: a human machine interface unit, and a control unit, wherein the human machine interface unit comprises a sound system and a display unit, wherein the sound system is configured to capture a lock sound of a seat belt of the child seat, wherein the control unit is configured to identify if the lock sound corresponds to a predetermined safe locking sound of the seat belt, and wherein the control unit is configured to indicate in the display unit that the seat belt of the child seat is locked.

A guide rail arrangement for an extensible cover. The guide rail arrangement has a main extension direction (D) and comprises a guide rail and a guide member. The guide rail extends in the main extension direction and is adapted to guide the cover during pull-out thereof. The guide member is displaceable in relation to the guide rail, e.g. by sliding or rotation. The guide member is configured to form an extension of the guide rail in the main extension direction, when in an operational position in relation to the guide rail. The present disclosure further relates to a kit comprising the guide rail arrangement and a belt, to a vehicle and to a method of pulling out the extensible cover.

Guide rail arrangement

Apparatus and system for an adjustable seatbelt guide are disclosed. The seatbelt guide is attached to a mechanical stop associated with a seat. The mechanical stop, such as a striker, is adapted to limit reclining movement of a seatback, especially with respect to a rear seat of a vehicle. The mechanical stop and attached seatbelt guide may move positions with or without the seat in order to maintain seatbelt geometry. When the seat is folded down, the seatbelt guide may maintain the seatbelt in the parked position.

Apparatus and system for adjustable seatbelt guide

A seat belt is wound around a spool and a spring biases the spool to rotate in a belt retraction direction. A sensor detects a retraction speed of the belt when the spool rotates in the belt retraction direction and generating a belt speed signal. An electrical drive unit receives the belt speed signal and applies a torque to the spool in a belt extension direction (opposite to the belt retraction direction) if the retraction speed exceeds a threshold value. The torque is of a magnitude sufficient to maintain the retraction speed below the threshold value. The electric motor and/or electrical control unit may be part of or otherwise integrated with a safety belt pre-tensioning system.

Method and system for seat belt retraction speed control

An occupant restraint system for a vehicle seat has a belt with a shoulder-belt portion extending diagonally across the seat between an upper portion of first side of the seat and a lower portion of a second side of the seat. An upper belt guide is mounted adjacent to the upper first side of the seat and engages the shoulder-belt to allow it to slide along the guide during belt retraction and extension. A safety sensor/control system generates a signal indicating a condition requiring improved occupant restraint in the seat. A guide actuator is activated in response to the safety sensor/control system signal and displaces the upper belt guide in a transverse direction relative to the seat. The displacement of the guide moves the shoulder-belt portion closer to the neck and/or shoulder of the seat occupant to more securely restrain the occupant.

A seat belt system for a vehicle has a shoulder-belt extending diagonally across the seat. A belt tensioner applies tension to the belt in response to detection/prediction of a potentially unsafe situation by a safety sensor/control system. A support arm has an upper end mounted to the vehicle structure above an upper outboard portion of the seat. The support arm extends downwardly and a guide member is attached to the lower end of the support arm and engages the belt. The lower end of the support arm is movable relative to the upper end/mounting point such that when the tensioner is activated, the belt urges the guide member from a comfort position relatively far from the neck and/or upper shoulder of a seat occupant to a safety position closer to the seat.
