In a cleaning method for removing adhesive residues from surfaces, in particular after separating an adhesive connection between adhesively joined partners, liquid carbon dioxide from a reservoir enters a jet apparatus and is guided there through a first dosing unit into an expansion chamber, wherein a cold-resistant liquid is then supplied to a mixture created in the expansion chamber from gaseous carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide particles and wherein the mixture, to which the cold-resistant liquid has been added, exits the jet apparatus via an outlet opening thereof. Furthermore, a jet apparatus removes adhesive residues from surfaces.

A method for joining by welding a weld stud to a workpiece, with the following steps: providing a drawn arc welding device and a plasma gas cleaning device; providing a weld stud and providing a workpiece including a joining surface; cleaning the joining surface using a plasma gas cleaning method including the cleaning steps of: generating in the plasma gas generating device a non-transferred arc, generating with the non-transferred arc a plasma from a compressed gas, and directing the plasma onto the joining surface to remove contaminants thereon; and then, after the cleaning steps, joining the weld stud to the workpiece by drawn arc welding using the drawn arc welding device including forming of a transferred electric arc between the weld stud and the joining surface.

A joining method for connecting a first component to a second component without pre-punching. A method is described for establishing a nail connection between two components as well as a nail therefor. The nail is driven through the non-prepunched components in the joining area at a high speed such that the nail tip fully penetrates both components and forms a toric-shaped material bulge in the nail-head-side component, which protrudes into a circular groove of the nail head, and a crater-shaped material bulge is formed in the component facing away from the nail head, which protrudes in the opposite direction.

The joining element comprises a sleeve-shaped accommodation part for the accommodation of an element to be attached in the interior of the accommodation part. A flange-type extension having an indentation is provided wherein said indentation can be filled with suitable means of attachment for mounting the joining element onto surface.
