Provided herein are systems, devices and methods for generating water from atmospheric air, making use of a molecular selective processing unit and a vapor exchange unit to efficiently generate pure water from water vapors, selectively separated from air.

Atmospheric water generation method and device

There is provided an airway tube for breath sampling, comprising a breath sampling port comprising two or more inlets adapted to sample breath from the airway tube. The inlets are connected to each other through a junction located outside of the air passageway of the airway tube.

Airway tube

There is provided an exhaled breath moisture reduction system including a dryer mechanism and a connector adapted to connect the dryer mechanism proximate to a respiratory output device. There is also provided an exhaled breath sampling assembly including an airway adaptor and a moisture reduction sleeve comprising a material adapted to reduce moisture and a connector adapted to connect said sleeve substantially adjacent to a breath sampling inlet within the adaptor. Also provided, a method of sampling breath which includes attaching an exhaled breath moisture reduction sleeve substantially adjacent to a breath sampling inlet.

Fluid drying mechanism

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention there is provided a bite block assembly adapted for capnography and oxygen delivery to a subject, the bite block assembly () including a first capnography passageway adapted for passage therethrough of exhaled breath from the subject to a capnograph and a second oxygen delivery passageway, separate from the first passageway, adapted for passage therethrough of oxygen from an oxygen source to the mouth of the subject.

Endoscopic bite block

A sensor for detecting concentration of a component in a breath sample including a gas sampling cell having an inlet, an outlet, a light source, a first light detector, a sampling channel configured to receive gas samples from the inlet; the sampling channel defining a light path between said light source and said first light detector; and a volume occupying material located within the sampling channel, the volume occupying material having an absorption coefficient for mid-infra-red light below 0.5 cmat room temperature.

Gas sampling cell

There is provided herein, a bite block () comprising an insertion channel () and an airway channel () wherein the airway channel is adapted to receive exhaled breath and wherein the first insert channel is adapted to pass a medical instrument. There is provided herein, a bite block comprising an oral insert channel, wherein a portion of said channel opens into a cavity () adapted to slidably receive an oral prong () the oral insert channel is adapted to receive exhaled breath.

A system for sampling exhaled breath and for supply of a gas, the system comprising: a gas delivery cannula comprising at least one nasal prong for insertion into a nostril, the nasal prong comprising a distal end; an exhaled breath sampling cannula for insertion into the nostril, the exhaled breath sampling cannula comprising a distal end; and a connector for coupling the gas delivery cannula to the exhaled breath sampling cannula, such that the distal end of the exhaled breath sampling cannula is disposed deeper in the nostril than the distal end of the nasal prong, to reduce dilution of sampled exhaled breath by delivered gas. The connected is configured to facilitate adjustability of an insertion depth of the exhaled breath sampling cannula into said nostril.

Exhaled breath sampling with delivery of gas

There is provided a breath sampling tube comprising a deflector adapted to reduce liquid intake into a sampling inlet. There is also provided a breath sampling tube including a deflector adapted to deflect liquid droplets present in breath to reduce liquid at the sampling inlet. There is also provided a breath sampling system including a gas analyzer and a breath sampling tube comprising a deflector adapted to deflect breath to reduce liquid at the sampling inlet. There is also provided a breath sampling system including a gas analyzer and a breath sampling tube comprising a deflector adapted to deflect liquid droplets present in breath to reduce liquid at the sampling inlet.

Breath sampling device

An endoscopic bite block, with teeth position defining regions which guide the subject's teeth to grip the bite block in their natural position, with the teeth of the upper jaw positioned further out than the lower jaw teeth. These teeth position defining regions are also preferably curved to match the curved shape of the jaw. The upper and lower parts of the front plate of the bite block may also be positioned at different distances out, so that upper and lower lip regions both contact the front plate snuggly. The bite block may be used with separate oral/nasal cannulae, or may incorporate breath sampling or gas supply cannulae. A flexible flapped curtain at the outer end of the bite block may be provided to largely enclose the inner volume of the bite block to enable more accurate capnographic sampling under conditions of wide-open mouth breathing.

There is provided herein a dryer polymer substance adapted to pervaporate a fluid (such as water, water vapor or both), the polymer substance includes: a porous support member having a plurality of pores, wherein at least a portion of the pores are filled with a cross-linked co-polymer comprising (i) a cationic monomer and an anionic monomer, (ii) a zwitterionic monomer, or a combination thereof. The substance may include a membrane or a tube. There is further provided herein a process for the preparation of a dryer polymer substance adapted to pervaporate a fluid (such as water, water vapor or both), the process includes impregnating into at least a portion of the pores of a porous support member a solution which comprises: (i) a cationic monomer and an anionic monomer, (ii) a zwitterionic monomer, or a combination of (i) and (ii), graft co-polymerizing the anionic monomer and the cationic monomer and/or the zwitterionic monomer within at least a portion of the pores to form a co-polymer, and cross-linking the co-polymer, such that the pores of the support member are at least partially grafted with a cross-linked co-polymer bound to the support member.
