A cord grip has a conduit hub configured to be connected to an electronics housing. A bore is formed in the conduit hub and has a first end communicating with the electronics housing and a second end configured to be connected to a conduit. A wire seal retains electrical wiring and is located in the hub forming a liquid-tight seal between the first end and the second end. A channel for transporting liquid from the conduit has an inlet communicating with the conduit and an outlet communicating with the exterior of the electronics housing. An overmolded bond may be formed between the wire seal and the electrical wiring.

A technique for determining when to replace protection circuitry in electronic devices, such as lighting fixtures, is provided. Protection circuitry is provided between AC supply rails and in front of circuitry to be protected. A protection circuit sensor is located and configured to measure a characteristic of the protection circuitry and provide a corresponding sensor output. Control circuitry will monitor the sensor output of the protection circuit sensor on a continuous, periodic, or aperiodic basis. Next, the control circuitry will determine at least one metric indicative of an extent of damage inflicted on the protection circuitrybased on the sensor output. Based on the at least one metric, the control circuitry will determine when the at least one metric exceeds a threshold indicative of a need to replace the protection circuitry while the protection circuitry remains operational.

Surge suppression monitoring for lighting fixtures and other electronics

A delay module is used with one or more lighting fixtures that receive an AC signal from an electrical circuit. The delay module includes an input node, which is coupled to the electrical circuit, and an output node, which is coupled to a driver module of one or more lighting fixtures. When an AC signal is initially presented to the electrical circuit, such as when a wall controller is switched to an on state, the delay module will provide, or maintain, an open circuit between the input node and the output node for a predetermined delay period. When the delay period expires, the delay module will provide a closed circuit between the input node and the output node, wherein the AC signal is passed from the electrical circuit to the driver module of the associated lighting fixture(s).
