A spill light reducer assembly includes at least one light source, at least one reflector, and a spill light reducer plate. The reflector includes a proximal end disposed about one or more corresponding light sources and a distal end extending outwardly from the proximal end. The spill light reducer plate includes at least one opening formed therein, which is positioned a predetermined distance away from the distal opening. The light source emits a main light beam and a spill light beam surrounding the main light beam. The spill light reducer plate reduces the amount of spill light emitted through the opening of the spill light reducer plate. A light fixture includes a housing that defines a cavity and a light emitting window. The spill light reducer plate is disposed within the cavity.

Optical spill light reducer for luminaires

A light emitting diode (LED) lighting fixture has monitoring and control circuits that sense when a freezing condition is present that could result in ice and/or snow accumulation on a lens of the LED lighting fixture, thereby reducing the light output therefrom. Heat may be supplied to the lens from a transparent resistive coating thereon, an internal space heater and/or increased power dissipate from the LEDs.

Detection and removal of snow and ice on a lens of a light emitting diode lighting fixture

A light emitting diode (LED) sign lighter is positioned to illuminate a sign. One or more LED modules on the LED sign lighter are directed toward different portions of the sign. Each LED module is configured with a reflector or over-optic to control the angle of the light emitted toward the sign. Each LED module includes an array of LEDs. The configuration of each LED module within the LED sign lighter helps to reduce the build-up of environmental contaminants on the LED module. The center section of the LED sign lighter includes a compartment for housing electrical components to power the LED modules. Heat sink fins are oriented along the back side of the LED sign lighter to provide thermal efficiency for the LED modules.
