A cable clamp includes an elongated, open-top base having a first end, a second end, and a central region. A suspension arm extends from the open-top base. An eyelet having an opening, a top portion, and a base portion is coupled to the suspension arm. The eyelet base portion has a first width and the top portion has a second width greater than the first width. A keeper is coupled to the base.

Cable suspension clamp

A fiber optic network for a multiple dwelling unit (MDU) is disclosed. The fiber optic network comprises a riser cable preconnectorized with a first riser optical connector. The riser cable is optically connected to a feeder cable providing optical communication service to the MDU. The riser cable has one or more preset mid-span access points along the length of the riser cable. One or more optical fibers of the riser cable extend from the riser cable at the one or more preset mid-span access points and are preconnectorized with a second riser optical connector. A payout reel is adapted to pay out the riser cable such that the riser cable extends between the lower level and at least one of the one or more distribution levels. The payout reel is adapted to store a length of the riser.

Fiber optic distribution network for multiple dwelling units

Fiber optic assemblies include subunit cables wrapped in binders. The assemblies have small cross sections and low bend radii while maintaining acceptable attenuation losses. Stranding of the subunit cables allows ease of access to the individual cables during installation.

Optical fiber assemblies

A cable clamp assembly and a cable clamp method for a flat fiber optic cable are disclosed. The assembly includes a wedge-shaped outer shell with a bottom wall having a friction inner surface with a longitudinal central recess formed therein. The flat fiber optic cable resides within the interior of the outer shell and is supported by the friction inner surface. A shim having two parallel rows of protrusions fits within the interior of the outer shell with the protrusions being in contact with the fiber optic cable. The assembly includes a wedge insert having two outer ridges that substantially align with the two rows of protrusions. When the wedge insert matingly engages the outer shell, the outer ridges press down on the protrusions, which in turn press down on the fiber optic cable mainly at the locations where longitudinal dielectric strength members reside.

Cable clamp assembly and method for a flat fiber optic cable

A tool and a method for installing one or more cables into a molding is disclosed. The tool includes a laying chute on a first end of the tool having an open passage along its length for inserting one or more cables into the laying chute. The tool also includes one or more closing devices that are rotatably attached to the laying chute to allow insertion of the one or more cables into the laying chute. The cable is inserted into the laying chute and secured using the closing devices. Thereafter, the tool is moved along the length of the molding for inserting the cable therein.

A fiber optic drop cable assemblies and methods for deploying the same on a wall of a building are disclosed. The assembly includes a messenger member and a plurality of fiber optic cables each having a length, a connectorized end, and containing at least one optical fiber, the fiber optic cables being removably secured to the messenger member at a plurality of locations. The fiber optic cables are secured to the messenger member at a plurality of locations that correspond to select building locations, such as windows, through which the cable can be fed into the building.

Fiber optic drop cable assembly for deployment on building walls

Methods are provided including the steps of transmitting a beam of light through a length of the optical fiber, reflecting a transmitted beam of light at a second end of an optical fiber such that a highly reflective event reflects the light beam, and identifying the second end of the optical fiber by monitoring at least the reflected light beam. In further examples, devices are provided for removable mounting with respect to an end of an optical connector. Each device comprises a reflective surface configured to provide a highly reflective event to reflect a beam of light back through an optical fiber supported by the optical connector. In further examples, optical assemblies are provided that include an optical connector with an optical fiber and a device with a reflective surface configured to provide a highly reflective event.

Methods and devices for testing an optical fiber

Furcation assemblies () for furcating a fiber optic drop cable () are disclosed. An example furcation assembly includes a furcation member () having an elongate furcation body () defining an axial channel () with a front section (). The channel front section is configured to accommodate and be secured to either a buffer tube () of a buffered drop cable or a protective cover () of an unbuffered drop cable. A flexible guide () is secured to the furcation member back end. A flexible protection member () slidably fits within the guide back end and is telescopically adjustable relative thereto. To create a cable assembly () using the furcation assembly, the furcation member is secured to the drop cable so that the optical fiber () carried thereby is passed through the furcation member, through the guide and through the protection member to form an exposed fiber section. The fiber end () of the exposed fiber section is then connectorized with a connector () and the protection member is slid over the exposed fiber portion and is connected to the connector back end (). Furcation assemblies and methods for handling multiple fibers are also disclosed.

A cable assembly reel including a drum defining an exterior surface for receiving a length of wound cable and including at least one access panel therein for providing access to an interior cavity, and at least one flange removably attached to the drum defining an opening therethrough for receiving an axle. A cable reel for maintaining at least one cable of a cable assembly around the exterior surface of the reel and defining an interior cavity for maintaining attached hardware of the cable assembly separate from the at least one cable.
