A process for producing gasoline components from a hydrocarbonaceous feed containing hydrocarbons comprising at least 4 carbon atoms is disclosed. The process comprises the following steps:

Process for isomerizing hydrocarbons at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of hydrogen by contacting said hydrocarbons with a catalyst comprising zeolite beta and a hydrogenating-dehydrogenating metal and/or a compound of a hydrogenating-dehydrogenating metal, which zeolite beta has been treated with a solution having a pH of at least 9 and which catalyst has been calcined.

Process for isomerizing hydrocarbons

Catalysts for the isomerization of n-paraffins are prepared by treating mordenite with an acid solution comprising Na- or K-ions and thereafter with a solution of an NH.sub.4 -compound, mixing the thus treated mordenite with an inert binder material on which a Group VIII noble metal has been deposited and finally shaping the resulting mixture under high pressure.
