An audio transmission system including a wireless digital microphone unit which detects audio signals and wirelessly transmits the detected audio signals based on adjustable transmission settings and transmission parameters, and a central unit. The central unit has a monitor unit for monitoring and analyzing a frequency spectrum of an available frequency band, a link adaptation unit which adapts the microphone's transmission settings and parameters based on the results of the monitor unit, and a transmitting/receiving unit for receiving wirelessly transmitted audio signals from the wireless microphone unit and for transmitting transmission settings and transmission parameters via a return channel to the wireless microphone unit. The microphone's transmission settings and parameters are modified based on the transmission settings and transmission parameters transmitted via the return channel, which have a center frequency of a channel, a selection of a modulation method and parameters thereof, a data rate, and/or a channel encoding.

Digital wireless audio transmission system and method for wireless audio transmission

There is provided a wireless audio transmission system, in particular a wireless microphone system, for wireless audio transmission. The system has at least one wireless microphone unit for detecting audio signals and for wirelessly transmitting the detected audio signals, and a central unit. The central unit has a wireless receiving unit for receiving the wirelessly transmitted audio signals from the wireless microphone units, a pilot tone transmitting unit for transmitting a first pilot tone on a pilot channel, and a pilot tone receiving unit for receiving and processing a second pilot tone signal. The pilot tone signal has information in respect of the wireless transmission between the microphone units and the central unit.

Wireless audio transmission system, particularly a wireless microphone system

The invention relates to a process for the transmission of digitized audio information of high quality and with a short delay, in particular processes for the transmission of digitized audio information in an audio pickup (microphone) and/or playback path. According to the invention there is proposed a channel filter which is used to shape the high frequency spectrum of the transmission, wherein the spectrum has no attenuation in a first range of about 100 to 300 kHz useful bandwidth and in a range outside the first range it has a stop-band attenuation of particularly preferably more than 60 dB or more than 80 dB.

Digital microphone

There is provided a transmitter for a wireless audio transmission system comprising at least one analog/digital converter unit for analog/digital conversion of the analog audio signals to be transmitted, at least one digital signal processing unit with a compressing/encoding device for compressing and encoding the digitized signal to be transmitted, a digital/analog converter unit for digital/analog conversion of the digital output signals of the digital signal processing unit into analog signals, and a transmitting unit for wirelessly transmitting the output signals of the digital/analog converter unit. There is further provided a receiver for a wireless audio transmission system comprising a receiving unit for receiving wirelessly transmitted analog HF signals, an intermediate frequency unit for mixing the HF signals onto intermediate frequency signals, at least one analog/digital converter unit for analog/digital conversion of the wirelessly received signals, at least one digital signal processing unit with an expanding/decoding device for expanding and decoding the signals digitised by the at least one analog/digital converter unit, and at least one digital/analog converter unit for converting the digital output signals of the digital signal processing unit into analog signals.
