An elevator shaft access safety device for an elevator shaft access provided with landing doors extending thereacross, the landing doors being flanked by substantially vertical first and second jambs, the elevator shaft access safety device being securable to the first and second jambs while the landing doors remain closed.

Elevator shaft access safety device and method of using the same

A carrier having a foot member, a post and a top member. The foot member has a first end and a second connecting end adapted to be detachably connected to a hitch of a vehicle. A bottom end of the post is connected to the first end of the foot member and extends upwardly therefrom in an operational position. The top member is pivotally connected to a top end of the post and is displaceable between a deployed operative position where at least a carrying portion thereof extends away from the vehicle and a collapsed inoperative position where the carrying portion and a major part of the top member are located between a longitudinal axis the post and the vehicle. Retaining means selectively retain the top member at least in the deployed position.

Foldable carrier for a vehicle

A sporting article transport rack that is engageable to a hitch of an automotive vehicle is provided. The rack comprises a hitch engaging portion that is fastenable to the hitch and which extends therefrom away from the automotive vehicle. An elongated stem portion extends upwardly from the hitch engaging portion. An article support member is securable to an upper end of the elongated stem portion and is cantilevered therefrom. The article support member is removable from the elongated stem portion.

Vehicle hitch rack

A simple, yet sturdy bicycle and ski carrier for attachment to a vehicle trailer hitch includes an inverted L-shaped post, the horizontal top arm of which receives brackets for connecting articles to the post, a frame at the bottom end of the post, and a mounting block for attachment to the rear end of a trailer hitch bar. The frame includes a rod extending between parallel sides for insertion into a transverse groove in the front of the mounting block, a sleeve near the rear end of the frame rotatably supporting cam plates, a lever for rotating the cam plates, and a linkage between the lever and the plates, for rotating the latter between a mounting block engaging position for securing the frame on the block and a release position, permitting removal of the frame from the hitch.
