An overvoltage protection circuit for a first subsystem of a multivoltage vehicle electrical system, in which the first subsystem having a first vehicle electrical system voltage, a second subsystem having a second vehicle electrical system voltage, and an electric machine for supplying the second subsystem. The first system voltage is less than the second system voltage. The overvoltage protection circuit includes a first ground connection for connecting a shared ground potential of the first subsystem, the second subsystem, and the electric machine, an additional second ground connection for connecting a reference ground potential, and a control connection for controlling the electric machine. The overvoltage protection circuit checks whether a ground differential voltage between the first and second ground connections reaches a threshold value, and for reducing the second vehicle electrical system voltage when the ground differential voltage between the first and second ground connections reaches the threshold value.

A rectifier bridge circuit is described for rectifying the phase voltage generated by a generator, including a positive half-bridge having multiple rectifier elements and a negative half-bridge having multiple rectifier elements. The rectifier elements each have a controllable switch having a diode connected in parallel. A control circuit is provided for switching the switches on and off. The switch-on time tand/or the switch-off time tof the switch is/are computed based on a characteristic map or a mathematical function.

Piezoelectric actuators having ceramic layers and electrode layers, and being provided with an outer cover layer on each end face of the piezoelectric actuator. The ceramic layers and the outer cover layers each have a predetermined dielectric constant. Rapid switching of the actuator results in considerable electromagnetic interference, which must be reduced through complex measures involving the control unit or electric lines. The device reduces electromagnetic interference by decreasing the interfering capacitance between the actuator and the actuator housing connected to ground electrically. The outer cover layers have a lower relative dielectric constant than the ceramic layers between the outer cover layers.
