The present invention is directed to beverage dispensers and more specifically to a beverage dispensing nozzle that provides a short and direct beverage pathway. The nozzle is adapted for use in a self-cleaning assembly that provides for efficient cleaning of all of its surfaces that contact beverage products. The nozzle can be configured with an inlet port that provides a relatively direct product flow pathway from a beverage mixing chamber in the dispenser.

The invention relates to a mixing device with an input container that is configured for receiving a product that includes a fluid component and a second component. A whipper with a conical whipper surface has an axis is configured for aerating and frothing the product. The whipper surface extends between first and second end portions, with the first end portion having a smaller diameter than the second end portion. The whipper surface is preferably oriented at a surface angle to the axis of about between 5&#xb0; and 65&#xb0;. A motor is in driving association with the whipper for rotating the whipper about the axis at a speed sufficient for aerating and frothing the product. A product exit conduit is disposed downstream of the whipper and is configured for dispensing the product of the fluid and second components.

Mixing and frothing device and method

A dispensing canister and method for reducing dose fluctuation and improving evacuation in the dispensing of a pulverulent material such as beverage-forming or food-forming powder. The dispensing canister has a reservoir having an inlet and an outlet and defining a volume for retaining the pulverulent material therein, a dosing member operatively associated with the reservoir outlet for receiving and dispensing the pulverulent material; and an agitator wheel located in the reservoir and arranged to periodically rotate to assist in dislodging pulverulent material in the reservoir so that it can move to the dosing member. The agitator wheel preferably includes agitating members for transversing a significant portion of the volume of the reservoir to contact and dislodge pulverulent material therein.

Dispensing canister

The invention discloses a device intended for dispensing first and second flowable substances for the preparation of a food or beverage. This device includes first and second container holders each comprising an apertured plate member for receiving a container opening, with the plate member being adapted to move from a closed position, wherein a portion of the plate member obturates the container opening, to an open position, where the flowable substance can be dispensed from the container, and vice versa. First and second container opening connection structures are provided for operatively associating each container opening with its respective apertured plate member. The first container opening connection structure is configured to be different from the second container opening connection structure so that each can receive and engage only its respective container opening but not the other so that the device can properly receive and dispense the first and second flowable substances when preparing the food or beverage. The invention also relates to a container for holding a flowable substance and for attachment as a reservoir in a top-down position onto a device for dispensing the flowable substance.

Containers of flowable substance adapted for connecting to dispensing devices of a beverage or food dispensing machine

The invention relates to a dispensing canister that improves dosing consistency and powder evacuation, particularly when dry powdered beverage-forming or food-forming material having poor intrinsic flowing properties are to be dispensed. The canister includes a reservoir having two terminal walls and two side walls, a rotatable volumetric dosing device longitudinally extending in the reservoir, and a main agitating wheel arranged to gear on the rotatable volumetric dosing device to rotate in the reservoir upon actuation of the rotatable dosing device. The secondary agitating wheel is arranged to gear on the main agitating wheel and the two wheels are vertically offset so that the main wheel is arranged to act in a downward rotation closer to a first terminal wall whereas the secondary wheel is arranged to act in a downward rotation closer to the second terminal wall.

A powdered soluble foamer ingredient for producing enhanced foam in foodstuffs and beverages is described. The particles of the powdered soluble foamer ingredient are formed of a matrix containing carbohydrate and protein and entrapped gas. The gas is pressurised to release upon addition of liquid at least about 1 ml of gas at ambient conditions per gram of soluble foamer ingredient. When used in soluble creamer powders, enhanced amounts of foam are generated.

Foaming ingredient and powders containing it

The invention relates to a device for cleanly and conveniently refilling a flowable substance in a dispensing device which comprises a container assembly of a container containing a flowable substance; a container holding assembly attached to the container which includes an opening mechanism for securing the opening of the container when the container holding assembly is held in a stable delivery position on a reservoir. An unlatching mechanism is also provided to release the container holding assembly from the reservoir in a convenient way. The invention also relates to the combination of such a container assembly and a reservoir assembly which is especially adapted for securely receiving the container assembly.

The locking mechanism is intended to be released by the release member of a reservoir assembly arranged so that release is effected when the container holding assembly is held in a stable delivery position on a reservoir. The invention also relates to the combination of such a container assembly and a reservoir assembly specially adapted for receiving the container assembly.
