A process is described for the extraction of one or more substances from a fluid starting material with an appropriate extraction agent by use of a static micromixer for mixing the starting material with the extraction agent. The static micromixer is provided with disk-shaped components, the disk () being provided with at least one inlet opening () for introducing at least one fluid stream into a linking channel () disposed in the plane of the disk and at least one outlet opening () for removing the fluid stream into a mixing zone () disposed in the plane of the disk, the inlet opening () being connected with the outlet opening () in a communicating manner through a linking channel () disposed in the plane of the disk, and the linking channel () before opening into the mixing zone () being divided by microstructure units () into two or more part channels (), and the widths of the part channels being in the millimeter to submillimeter range and being smaller than the width of the mixing zone ().

Extraction method using a static micromixer

The object of the invention is a hair-treatment agent in the form of a two-phase gel, containing comminuted particles of a firm and shape-retaining gel based on a carrageenan-containing aqueous base in a fluid polyol matrix. The gel is a clear product with properties of a hair wax or hair cream and it can be dispensed, sprayed or foamed from a suitable container by means of a propellant.

A method of reducing the flyaway effect occurring during treatment of hair with a cosmetic composition is disclosed. According to this method an effective amount of an electrically conductive polymer is added to the cosmetic composition prior to treatment of the hair. Preferably the cosmetic composition is a shampoo or hair care composition, which contains from 0.001 to 5% of the electrically conductive polymer.

Cosmetic compositions containing electrically conductive polymers

The permanent shaping composition for permanent shaping of hair includes from 2 to 25 percent by weight of a conventional keratin-reducing compound and from 0.02 to 5 percent by weight of certain diquaternary polysiloxanes. The permanent wave-pretreatment composition includes from 0.02 to 5 percent by weight of the diquaternary polysiloxanes. The permanent shaping composition advantageously includes mercaptocarbonic acid reducing agents and has a pH of from 6 to 10 and may include conventional cosmetic additives. Methods for using the permanent shaping composition and the permanent wave-pretreatment composition are described which provide a more uniform permanant wave from the hair roots to the hair tips.
