A method changes the material from a feed mixture to a subsequent mixture in a feed device of an extruder, the method comprising the steps of detecting a change request for changing the material, emptying a mixing area of a mixing device of the feed device, identifying the completion of the emptying of the mixing area, and filling the mixing area of the mixing device with the subsequent mixture after the completion of the emptying has been identified.

A web-guiding or sheet-guiding machine has at least one roller nip, and at least one roller, which delimits the roller nip or is located downstream of the roller nip on a transport path, that is driven by an electric drive. A power controller is assigned to the electric drive, and the machine has a safety device to monitor whether foreign bodies are penetrating the roller nip and/or whether a specified torque for the drive is being maintained. The safety device has a first measuring device to monitor at least one first electric variable of the power to the drive by the power controller, a second measuring device to measure a second physical variable having a functional relationship with the first electric variable, and a computer module to compare time sequences of the two variables and generate warning signals in the event of deviations in the time sequence.

An extruder device includes an extruder worm and a worm drive that has a drive motor, which is provided with a rotor. The rotor is connected to the extruder worm during operation in such a way that the rotor and extruder worm rotate at the same speed during operation. The rotor can be connected to detachable torque-transmitting elements which transmit torque between the rotor and the extruder worm and which can be detached when refitting occurs. The detachable torque-transmitting elements include a torque-transmission point at which torque is transmitted from a bushing to a connecting section which is at least partially encompassed by the bushing. The torque-transmission point in an axial direction is located outside the rotor.
