Fuel injection device with air-assisted fuel diffusion

A very fast electromagnetic fuel injector of cartridge design for the injection of fuel into the intake manifold of an internal combustion motor. The magnetic pole of the valve is mounted on a non-magnetizable casing which is solidly connected to a valve seat. This casing, together with the armature, the magnetic pole, and the valve seat, form a cartridge which can be manufactured independent from the other valve components. The cartridge is built into a valve housing which largely consists of plastic material. The fuel injector is therefore inexpensive to manufacture. In addition, the valve can be provided with a monostable polarized magnetic circuit.

An electromagnetic high-pressure injection valve is used in the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of internal combustion engines. The magnetic valve has a miniaturized magnetic circuit in which the necessary actuating forces are reduced by means of a particularly small seat diameter and a small stop surface for the valve needle, in comparision with prior art constructions. Fuel under high pressure streams completely around the moving parts of the valve. An adjustable seat base is also provided which provides high long-term calibration stability, despite its small size. In order to reduce closing rebound, a vibration damping system may also be used in mechanical injection systems. In order to attain the fastest adjustments, the valve may be fitted with a polarized magnetic circuit having a special feature which is its suspension inside two diaphragm springs with a very steep elasticity characteristic.

Electromaagnetic high-pressure injection valve

An electromagnetic valve for fuel injection into the suction pipe of combustion motors. The valve features a tilt-armature of very low mass. The valve is mounted in a plastic housing and can therefore be inexpensively manufactured. The valve can also be adapted to be a three-way valve. In addition, the valve can be equipped with a mono-stable polarized magnetic circuit.

An electromagnetic valve assembly is shown having an armature and armature-actuated valve member the mass of which is substantially less than the armature and which is not fixedly connected to the armature; upon electrical energization the armature first overcomes a restraining force and then travels a major part of its stroke before actuating the valve member, at a relatively high speed thereby causing movement of the valve member by kinetic energy of the armature.

Electromagnetic injection valve

An extremely fast electromagnetic fuel injector in miniature form which is intended predominantly for fuel injection into the suction pipe of combustion engines. The device features an armature of extremely low mass which is guided only by a diaphragm spring. The injector is mounted in a plastic valve carrier. In addition, a procedure for dynamic calibration is proposed where the magnetic resistivity of the magnetic circuit is varied.

An electromagnetic fuel injector is equipped with a flat valve seat. The injector features a parallel hydraulic guidance system for the armature which is obtained by suitably disposed hydraulic damping gaps. In addition, a method of manufacturing said hydraulic damping gaps is described.

A fast acting, electromagnetically actuated three-way miniature valve which is specifically useful for applications in automobile technology; for example, the electronically controlled pressure regulation in automatic transmissions. An example of the invention is characterized by the combination of: armature and obturator are a single solid unit, preferably manufactured out of one piece, and with a total mass of only a few grams; the valve stroke is significantly less than 0.5 mm, preferably 0.05-0.2 mm; the bearing arrangement for the valve obturator is such that a radial clearance of less than 0.05 mm is involved and the valve obturator is movable in the direction of the axis, and this bearing arrangement simultaneously guides the armature and also serves to separate two spaces of differing pressure; the valve obturator coordinates with two alternately closing valve seats; the seating surfaces of the armature, in both directions of movement, are exclusively defined by the valve obturator; the seating surfaces of the armature are perfused by the main oil stream prior to the armature reaching its final position; the valve seats feature approximately the same radius as the armature bearing, where the average radius of the valve seats does not deviate by more than .+-.-1 mm from that of the armature bearing, and where this deviation of the radii of the valve seats preferably shall not exceed 0.4 mm.

A fuel injection fuel supply system for a combustion engine has a fuel injector valve effective for metering and injecting metered fuel to the engine induction system; an electromagnetic assembly having a magnetic open loop is used for cyclically opening and closing the injector valve.

An electromagnet, for valves, comprises thin-walled axially symmetrical parts and is adapted to different uses by special air gap arrangements and armature suspensions; the electromagnet generates high magnet forces at low armature mass and is employable, in particular, for actuation of fuel injection valves for internal combustion engines and in general hydraulics; the electromagnet possesses a high mechanical stability and eddy current depletion combined with simple armature suspension and low cost of manufacture.

A duty-cycle type electromagnetic injector assembly has a valve and cooperating valve seat with the valve being positioned away from or against the valve seat depending upon whether an associated electrical coil is energized; a housing generally contains the valve and valve seat; a guide closely confines the valve permitting the valve to be freely moved toward and away from the valve seat while constraining movement of the valve in other directions; and a fluid pressure regulator forming a portion of the injector assembly establishes both the static rate and dynamic rate of liquid flow metered by the injector assembly.

A supplementary mass is arranged in an electromagnet system between armature and reset spring in such a way that, after reaching an end position, the armature is relieved of the spring force; due to the relief, a high excess of magnetic force is available for braking the subsequent bounce movement; the mass and force conditions of the magnet system are matched so that the subsequent collision of armature and supplementary mass occurs counter-directionally and the remaining kinetic energy of the armature is used up to a large extent by the counter-directional collision; the small bounce movement permits the use of spring systems with very high reset forces when the armature is pulled-in whereby the movement times of the armature are greatly shortened; and specific springs and spring arrangements for producing suitable reset spring force characteristics are described.
