Elastic sleeve for a power conductor

The invention relates to a voltage sensing device for a high and/or medium-voltage power-carrying conductor, the voltages sensing device comprising: &#x2022; a carrier element () with a passageway for receiving the power-carrying conductor, &#x2022; wherein the carrier element comprises an electrode () extending in an axial direction of the passageway of the carrier element and operable as a first electrode of the voltage sensing device, wherein &#x2022; a conductor () of the power cable is operable as the second electrode of the voltage sensing device and wherein &#x2022; the carrier element has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is less than 5&#xd7;10^&#x2212;6 1/K at 20 C.

Voltage sensing device

Voltage sensor () for a high- or medium-voltage power-carrying conductor for a power network, such as an inner conductor of a power cable or a cable connector or a bus bar. The voltage sensor has a tubular shape and an axial passageway (), which can receive the conductor. The voltage sensing device comprises a) a radially-inner electrode (), operable as a first sensing electrode of a sensing capacitor for sensing the voltage of the power-carrying conductor, b) a radially-outer electrode (), operable as a second sensing electrode of the sensing capacitor, and c) a solid carrier element (), at least a first portion of which is arranged between the inner electrode and the outer electrode, the first portion being operable as a dielectric of the sensing capacitor. The sensor can be accommodated in a cable accessory. The carrier element may comprise ceramic material to increase accuracy.

Voltage Sensor

Cable connection device for connecting a power cable to an electrical installation of a power network, comprising a conductor element having a first end portion, a second end portion, and a middle portion disposed between the first and the second end portion. The conductor element comprises a connector socket arranged at the first end portion, for mating with a cable plug. The connector socket is integrally formed with the middle portion.

Closure for measuring voltage on power-carrying conductors

A conductor assembly for a power network includes an inner conductor defining radial and axial directions, an insulating layer arranged around at least an axial section of the inner conductor, and a sensing electrode arranged radially outward of the insulating layer. The sensing electrode is operable as a first electrode of a sensing capacitor of a capacitive voltage sensor, in which sensing capacitor the inner conductor is operable as a second electrode. The conductor assembly further includes an electrically insulating spacer element arranged radially between the insulating layer and the sensing electrode.

Conductor assembly

A conductor assembly for a power network includes an inner conductor, an insulating layer arranged concentrically around the inner conductor, and a sensing electrode, arranged radially outward of the insulating layer, and operable as a first electrode of a sensing capacitor of a voltage sensor. The conductor assembly further includes a voltage pickup element having electrically conductive major surfaces, the first major surface being in a surface contact with the sensing electrode. The conductor assembly further includes an electrode wire, in electrical and mechanical contact with the voltage pickup element, for electrically connecting the voltage pickup element with an electric or electronic component disposed remote from the sensing electrode.

Sleeve () for a high- or medium-voltage power cable () having an inner conductor (). The sleeve comprises (i) a tubular sleeve body () having an electrically conductive or semiconductive first axial electrode section (), and (ii) a circuit board (). The sleeve is radially expandable or shrinkable. It can be arranged radially outward of the inner conductor, such hat the first axial electrode section is radially separated from the inner conductor by at least an electrically insulating spacer layer (). The circuit board is at least partially arranged radially outward of the sleeve body and comprises an electrical contact () which is electrically connected with the first axial electrode section.

Sleeve for a power cable

A method of making an abrasive article comprising an abrasive disc () of non-woven fibres having a central shaft () and a hub () securing the shaft () to the abrasive disc (). The method comprising forming the hub () by injecting molten thermoplastic material into the abrasive disc (), and allowing the thermoplastic material to cool and solidify such that the shaft () is secured to the abrasive disc (). The invention provides a simple, economical and effective method of securing a shaft to a disc.

Method of making abrasive article

The tubular terminal for a cable, in particular a medium or high voltage cable, comprises a first connector having at least one terminal end for connecting to at least one mating second connector adapted to be connected to a cable and engaged with the first connector for making electrical contact therewith upon connection of the second connector to the at least one terminal end of the first connector. Furthermore, the tubular terminal comprises a shrinkable sleeve having a first tubular portion and a second tubular portion extending from the first tubular portion. The first tubular portion of the shrinkable sleeve is fixedly arranged around the first connector. The second tubular portion of the shrinkable sleeve is adapted to extend beyond the at least one terminal end of the first connector for covering a mating second connector and cable attached thereto when the second connector is connected to the at least one terminal end of the first connector.

A covering device for applying an elastic cover to an elongate object includes a folded elastic sleeve having an inner sleeve portion and at least one coaxially disposed outer sleeve portion overlaying the inner sleeve portion. The inner and outer sleeve portions are continuously joined at least at one circumferential edge. The folded elastic sleeve is positioned on a support for holding the folded elastic sleeve in a radially stretched condition. The support has a first end arranged adjacent to the continuous joint of the outer and inner sleeve portions. Relative movement between the outer sleeve portion and the inner sleeve portion results in the outer portion moving and recovering onto the elongate object. The support includes stress relief means associated with the first end for reducing the stress in the outer sleeve portion adjacent the first end of the support when the outer sleeve portion has been moved onto the object to be covered.

A cover assembly including a crushable support (100) for supporting an elastomeric tube is described, the elastomeric tube being recoverable to at least a part of its original size and shape after collapse of said support, comprising: a plurality of substantially longitudinally extending portions (12); a plurality of connection portions (14), each longitudinally extending portion (12) being connected to, and spaced apart from neighboring longitudinally extending portions (12) by at least one of said connection portions (14) to form a rigid structure; and said at least one of said connection portions (14) including at least one frangible zone (16).
