Pressing jaws for opposite arrangement in crimping pliers, the pressing jaws having ribs, which extend in a rib longitudinal direction and move into each other during pressing. A guide surface extending transversely to the rib longitudinal direction outside of a working region of the ribs is formed, which guide surface interacts with a guide protrusion extending from the opposite pressing jaw. In another version, the pressing jaws have ribs, which are designed to mesh with each other and which have a rib longitudinal direction. Crimping pliers comprise two plier jaws, which are provided with oppositely arranged pressing jaws having ribs, which extend in a rib longitudinal direction and which, during pressing, move into each other and delimit a pressing jaw opening.

A pair of crimping pliers for crimping, in particular for crimp joining, workpieces, has two oppositely arranged pressing jaws and two pliers jaws, wherein one pliers jaw is stationary and the associated pressing jaw is fastened to this stationary pliers jaw by means of a spring-loadable holder part. The holder part is fixedly connected at its end farthest from the pressing jaw to the pliers jaw. Between the stationary connection and the end of the holder part closest to the first pressing jaw, a stop connection is formed between the stationary pliers jaw and the holder part and comes into effect when a predetermined pressing force is exceeded.

The invention relates to a crimping tool () having crimp indentors and a through-opening for the introduction of a cable end which is to be crimped, introduction of the cable end being limited by an adjustable stop part () which is fixedly connected to the crimping tool (), but is preferably operationally releasable, furthermore, the stop part () having different stop pins () which can be selectively activated by being pushed down and, if a different stop pin () is selected, the activated stop pin (), which is biased into its non-activated position, having to be released from the stop position. In order to provide a crimping tool with a stop part for which there is advantageous adjustment from one activated stop pin to another activated stop pin, it is proposed that the activated stop pin () is retained by a spring latching means formed by a retaining spring (), and the spring latching means can be deactivated by a release movement of the stop part ().
