The invention relates to a method for actuating the switching transistors of a rectifier which is provided for converting the phase voltages that are provided by a vehicle generator into a direct current voltage. Each switching transistor comprises a parasitic diode. An activation signal for initiating the conducting phase and a de-activation signal for ending the conducting phase are supplied to each control terminal of the switching transistors. A timer is started simultaneously with the provision of an activation signal and the de-activation signal is provided once a predetermined time period has passed.

Auxiliary generator set with variable transmission for an internal combustion engine

The invention is directed to a method for turning off the starter of an internal combustion engine, wherein a starter motor which can be engaged with the internal combustion engine for cranking is disengaged and switched off when the internal combustion engine runs by itself, and the time at which the starter is switched off is determined from a curve of a starter current of the starter motor. It is provided that a signal proportional to the starter current (I ) is evaluated for determining the time (t ) for switching off the starter, wherein there is an evaluation of a characteristic line with a signal which is proportional to the starter current, which characteristic line is dependent on an operating state of the internal combustion engine.

A controlled rectifier bridge for a generator having a plurality of phase windings and one exciter winding is constructed as a self-controlled rectifier bridge with MOS field effect transistor. To allow the use of such a rectifier bridge upon a fast load reduction with an attendant load-dump voltage, a voltage protection circuit is employed that feeds the energy, stored in the exciter winding upon a fast shutoff, back into the battery, thus deexciting the exciter winding. Upon a fast load reduction, the generator windings are short-circuited by suitable triggering of the low- or high-side transistors.

Controlled rectifier bridge with over-voltage protection

A multi-voltage electrical system for a vehicle is described, which includes a generator and a voltage regulator; the voltage regulator regulates the output voltage of the generator to predeterminable values by varying the exciter current. Connected downstream of the generator are two rectifier arrangements, which lead to a terminal (B ) and a terminal (B ), respectively. At least the rectifier arrangement leading to the terminal having the lower voltage is designed as a controllable rectifier and is triggered by the voltage regulator in such a way that the desired voltage (UB &plus;) occurs. Multi-voltage vehicle electric system

A control device for an on-board electrical system with at least two batteries which can be charged by a generator and serve to supply various consumers is described. This control device is located between the two batteries and includes a supply network element, a bus-capable microcomputer, a direct voltage converter, and a short circuit proof end stage.
