A method for manufacturing a spectacle lens having a lens substrate and at least one coating is disclosed. The method includes providing a lens substrate having an uncoated or precoated front surface and an uncoated or precoated back surface, applying at least one coating to at least one of the surfaces of the lens substrate, the surface of the at least one coating being modifiable when contacted with at least one medium able to modify the surface of the at least one coating, contacting the surface of the at least one coating, partially or completely, with the at least one medium, considering the individual peripheral refraction, obtaining the spectacle lens having the lens substrate and the at least one coating, the surface of the at least one coating being modified according to the individual peripheral refraction.

Method of manufacturing a spectacle lens

A progressive spectacle lens has a front face and a rear face and a uniform substrate with a locally varying refractive index. The front face and/or the rear face of the substrate is formed as a free-form surface and carries only functional coatings, if any. The refractive index varies (a) only in a first spatial dimension and in a second spatial dimension and is constant in a third spatial dimension, a distribution of the refractive being neither point-symmetrical nor axis symmetrical, or (b) in a first spatial dimension and in a second spatial dimension and in a third spatial dimension, a distribution of the refractive index being neither point-symmetrical nor axis symmetrical, or (c) in a first spatial dimension and in a second spatial dimension and in a third spatial dimension, a distribution of the refractive index not being point-symmetrical or axis symmetrical at all.

Progressive spectacle lens having a variable refractive index and method for the design and production thereof

A progressive addition lens contains a plurality of microlenses for providing simultaneous myopic defocus. The microlenses are superimposed on a power variation surface of the lens, which includes a designated distance portion in the upper section of the lens adapted for distance vision and a fitting cross; a designated near portion located in the lower section of the lens, the near portion including a near reference point having a near dioptric power adapted for near vision; and a designated intermediate corridor extending between the designated distance portion and near portions. Microlenses are excluded from all areas of the surface located below a notional line extending from nasal to temporal limits of the lens at a vertical coordinate above the near reference point where the vertical coordinate lies at a distance above the near reference point with the distance being in a range between 1.5 mm and 3 mm.

Progressive addition lens for myopia control and method of manufacturing the same

A computer-implemented method for generating data to produce a spectacle lens adapted to a spectacle frame is disclosed. The method includes: (i) providing, on a storage medium, a first data set containing a centering value and a three-dimensional model of the spectacle frame; (ii) creating, using the first data set, a second data set containing a geometric value of a surface of the spectacle lens; (iii) creating, in order to produce the spectacle lens from a spectacle lens blank and to grind in and/or fit the at least one spectacle lens into the spectacle frame using the first and second data sets, a third data set stored on the storage medium, wherein the data values of each data set have a spatial relationship with respect to each other such that the data values of each data set are consistently specified in relation to a particular coordinate system.

Computer-implemented method for generating data in order to produce at least one spectacle lens, and method for producing a pair of spectacles

A progressive spectacle lens has a front surface, a rear surface, and a spatially varying refractive index. A progressive spectacle lens includes a substrate which has a front face and a rear face and is made from a material with a regionally varying refractive index, wherein the front face and/or the rear face has/have a free-form surface geometry. The progressive spectacle lens complies with the following optical requirements: (1) a prescribed dioptric power in the distance reference point within the permissible limit deviations in accordance with EN ISO 8980-2:2004 and a prescribed dioptric power in the near reference point within the permissible limit deviations in accordance with EN ISO 8980-2:2004, (2) a monotonically steady increase in the dioptric power between the distance reference point and near reference point along a principal line of vision, and (3) a progression channel. Progressive spectacle lens with regionally varying refractive index and method for the design of same

A product includes a progressive power spectacle lens or a representation, stored on a data storage medium, of the progressive power spectacle lens. The progressive power spectacle lens has a front surface and a back surface and a spatially varying refractive index, wherein the front surface and/or the back surface is embodied as a progressive surface. The front surface is formed as a free-form surface in such a way that the maximum of the absolute value of the mean curvature of the front surface lies in the intermediate corridor and/or the back surface is formed as a free-form surface in such a way that the minimum of the absolute value of the mean curvature of the back surface lies in the intermediate corridor. Further, a computer-implemented method for planning a progressive power spectacle lens with a spatially varying refractive index and a progressive surface is disclosed.

The current disclosure is directed to a method for determining an improved design for a progressive spectacle lens. Further, there are provided a method for manufacturing a progressive spectacle lens, a system for determining an improved design for a progressive spectacle lens, a non-transitory computer program and a progressive spectacle lens.

Method for determining an improved design for a progressive lens

A method for producing an optical element includes a) providing a first shell which is transparent in the predetermined wavelength range, b) applying a coating which is optically effective for the predetermined wavelength range onto the structured portion, c) providing a second shell which is transparent in the predetermined wavelength range, which shell has an integral embodiment and a smooth lower side which has a complementary form to the form of the upper side, d) applying an adhesive layer which is transparent in the predetermined wavelength range onto the upper side of the first shell and/or the lower side of the second shell, and e) connecting the upper side of the first shell with the lower side of the second shell by means of the adhesive layer such that a two-shell optical element is produced, in which the optically effective structure is buried.

Optical element

A method for producing an optical element includes providing a first partial body which is transparent for the predetermined wavelength range and including on its upper side a structured section, applying a coating which is optically effective for the predetermined wavelength range onto the structured section in order to form the optically effective structure, and applying a cover layer which is transparent for the predetermined wavelength range onto the upper side of the first partial body by means of casting of thermoplastic material and/or duroplastic material.
