A multi-compartment case, in particular such a case for air travel, features a rectangular parallelpiped shaped part with a handle on one narrow side and, projecting beyond the narrow side a tall part which is provided with a hinged lid on the front wall facing the other part and in its interior a device for hanging up clothes. The narrow side projects as a wall section out of a front wall of two tall case shells which are made mainly of light weight metal and are hinged together. The narrow side features connecting elements to secure a briefcase which, when joined to the case, makes the whole into a rectangular parallelpiped.

A freight container for air transport comprising a support frame structure disposed on a base plate and cladding means which at least partially clad the frame structure, wherein the side walls of the freight container are each delimited upwardly by a respective top member and both top members project beyond a common edge of the base plate and are respectively connected thereto by at least two members, is to be of such a configuration that, while providing a substantial reduction in weight, the stability of the structure is increased, while in addition permitting more advantageous storage and ease of assembly. For that purpose, it is proposed that the side wall has a support frame comprising a vertical side member, the top member adjoining same and a member which is inclined outwardly from the base plate at an angle and which is attached to a projecting end of the overhanging top member. In that arrangement, a shaped panel is to be fixed as cladding means between the inclined members and a projection portion is to be formed out on the panel between marginal strip portions, the projection portion being provided with a bottom strip portion at a spacing with respect to the base plate.

Freight container, in particular for air freight

A freight container is disclosed which can be used for transporting stackable items and hanging items. The container is particularly stable and features at least one section which contributes to the load-bearing frame, runs transversely and features an undercut groove in which sliding fixtures of flexible supports for hanging the hanging items can be inserted and, if desired, can be fixed at a predetermined spacing. A strut section with both ends attached to the base of the container and a vertical strut attached to the upper part of the frame or to a load-bearing section can be released from the frame at least at one end and secured to a profiled section in the upper part of the container.

Container, in particular for transporting freight by air

A freight container (1), in particular a lightweight container (1) for air freight, having a support frame structure (3) which is secured to a container bottom (2) and which is formed from shaped bars or like strut members and which is at least partially covered or clad by a skin formed by sheet metal plates, fabric means or the like flat members, with a door (35) being provided within at least one area of the frame, is to be improved in such a way that it can be converted without cost into a so-called fork lift version and can also be restored to the normal version. For that purpose, provided in the interior (30) of the container, on the bottom plate (2), is an intermediate bottom member (52, 73) having channel-like shaped members (53; 72; 73) on its underside, the intermediate bottom member being releasably connected to the bottom plate and/or the support frame structure (3). In addition, the intermediate bottom member is preferably to be provided with U-shaped members (53), the free limb portions of which are bent over at a spacing (q) from the underside of the intermediate member to form support web portions (54), with the latter being directed away from the interior (55) of the shaped members.

The invention relates to freight containers, in particular containers for air transport with a supporting frame which is made of profiled sections or the like, the long sides of which frame comprise polygonal frames which have roof sections and reinforcing vertical struts, and are joined by transverse sections. In spite of being made according to standard, it should be possible to stack these readily on top of one another and secure them to each other. They should also feature facilities which allow access at all times to the freight to be transported. The supporting frame (7) of such an improved container (5) features, between the roof sections (18), clamping elements (21,24) to secure neighboring, stacked containers in place; also for stacking purposes, the roof sections are reinforced and the vertical struts (16) are positioned at the places of greatest load. If desired, the reinforced roof sections house facilities (40,41,42) to guide closure means (35) for stacked freight containers. As such, the vertical supports in symmetrically designed containers should be arranged at a distance (a) from each other on a long side (11,12), the distance (a) being equal to approximately twice the distance (b) between a vertical strut and an outermost corner post (19) of the container on the same long side.

Freight container, in particular for air transport

A container for transporting goods in the form of packages, bundles or the like having a floor, walls, roof and at least one door which can be locked, is improved such that it can be stored without problem, is spaced-saving when transported empty and light in weight, and allows individual parts to be readily replaced, while at the same time being economical to manufacture. The container has its floor and roof joined at a distance from each other by vertical corner posts to which stable, rigid sidewalls are also attached such that the corner posts are releasably joined to the floor and roof of the container by cube-like corner pieces. Instead of or in addition to the foregoing design, at least one of the walls feature at least one deep-drawn metal sheet or panel in which stiffening areas are provided, delimited by a peripheral region in the sheet and/or ribs extending from the edge regions.

Container for freight transport

A container, in particular a container for transporting freight by air, is made of profiled rods or spars which form a structural frame which is covered at least in part by sheeting, fabric or the like so that the covering acts in tension on the structural frame and is counteracted by compressive elements in the frame of the container.
