A mould plate includes a casting side and a rear side facing away from the casting side and having a cooling channel configured to open towards the rear side and having a cooling face opposite the casting side. An insert is arranged in the cooling channel to form a cooling gap between an inner face of the insert and the cooling face. A fastening bolt connects the insert to a fastening point in the cooling face, wherein the cooling gap extends, viewed from the fastening point towards the casting side, to an area below the fastening point.

Mould plate

The invention relates to a permanent mold plate having a plurality of fastening points () on the rear side () thereof for fastening purposes, and cooling ducts () which are adjacent to the fastening points () and are in the form of depressions that are located within the rear side () and are open towards the rear side (). From the perspective of a fastening point () towards the casting side () of the mold plate () opposite the rear side (), at least one cooling duct () extends all the way to a point located below the fastening point ().

Permanent mold plate and permanent mold

A liquid-cooled permanent chill mold for the continuous casting of metals, including a permanent chill mold plate () made of copper or a copper alloy and an adapter plate (), on which the permanent chill mold plates () are fastened via fastening bolts (). A permanent chill mold for the continuous casting of metals, comprising a mold tube () placed in a water box, a water gap being formed between the inner side of the wall of the water box and the outer side () of the mold tube (). In the water gap, at least one sheet metal water deflector () is situated, the mold tube () being supported at least in one direction to be laterally freely shiftable with respect to the water box and the working position of the mold tube () being adjusted by the flow relationships in the water gap.

Permanent chill mold

A liquid-cooled permanent mold for the continuous casting of metals, comprising mold plates () made of copper or a copper alloy, which are connected respectively to an adapter plate or a water-cooling tank by clamping bolts, the clamping bolts being fastened to plateau pedestals () that protrude in an insular fashion from the coolant side (), which at least partially extend into a coolant gap formed between the mold plate () and the adapter plate or the cooling-water tank, and have a streamlined form adjusted to the flow direction of the coolant. The coolant side () has cooling ribs () that extend into the coolant gap and are situated from place to place between two adjacent plateau pedestals ().

Liquid-cooled permanent mold for the continuous casting of metals

A permanent chill mold for the continuous casting of metal, having a mold cavity () which has a pouring slot (), an exit opening () and a casting cone (). At least one concave bulging () is provided that extends in the casting direction (G), which begins at a distance (A) below a predetermined casting bath level position () and extends up to the exit opening ().

Permanent chill mold for the continuous casting of metals

A liquid-cooled permanent mold for a continuous casting installation having a shaping permanent mold body, for example, made of copper or copper alloy. Cooling channels are provided in permanent mold body that extend from its upper side to its lower side. The cooling channels each have two longitudinal sections and the cooling sections have an alignment of their longitudinal axes that differ from one another. In this way, the horizontal distance of the cooling channels from the casting surface is varied and a cooling performance is achieved that is adjusted to the weighting profile of the permanent mold.

Liquid-cooled permanent mold

A chill tube () having a double T-shaped inner and outer cross section in beam blank format is encased in a water-guiding jacket () adapted to its outer contour while forming a water gap (). The wall thickness (D) of chill tube () in the rounded transition regions () from middle crosspieces (), which face each other head to head and are drawn in towards longitudinal axis (), to the neighboring crosswise positioned flanges () is dimensioned at least partially smaller than in the remaining wall sections (). The reduction in wall thickness is implemented by longitudinal hollow recesses (). These recesses () extend only in the height range of the bath level. Into the cross sectional regions which are formed by the outer contour of chill tube () as well as the inner contour of water-guiding jacket (), filler pieces () are incorporated, adapted to this cross section.

Chill tube

A continuous casting roll for the continuous casting of metal strip. The continuous casting roll has an essentially cylindrical core and a jacket, for example, made of a copper alloy, that is shrunk onto it. A relaxation zone is provided between the core and jacket. The relaxation zone, for example, having a radial extension of 1 mm, may be formed by a regional increase in the inside diameter of the jacket, and may be situated in the middle longitudinal range of the jacket.

Continuous casting roll

A liquid-cooled ingot mold is provided for the continuous casting of metals. The mold is made up of mold plates or a chill tube made of copper or a copper alloy, which are connected to a support structure by fastening bolts. The mold plates or the chill tube is connected to the support structure without clamping. A working gap exists between the support structure and the mold plates or the chill tube.

Liquid-cooled ingot mold

A chill tube () for the continuous casting of metals has a double T-shaped cross section in beam blank format. Inner contour () defining the cross section of the cast billet is cooled by cooling water, which is guided through cooling channels () in tube wall (). Cooling channels () have a round cross section when manufactured. Inner contour () has rounded transitions () between wall sections () bordering a flange region () and a crosspiece region (). The distance (A) between two cooling channels () adjacent to each other in transitions () is smaller than distance (B) in the remaining wall sections ().

Chill tube for the continuous casting of metals

A liquid-cooled casting die for the continuous casting of thin steel slabs has a molding casting die body made of a material of high heat conductivity, such as copper or a copper alloy. Preferably the casting die body is made, in each case, of two broad-side walls, situated facing each other, and narrow-side walls limiting the width of the billet, the broadside walls forming a funnel-shaped pouring-in area. In order avoid the formation of cracks in the thermally and mechanically more stressed areas of the copper plate, cooling zones are arranged particularly in the bath surface area having higher surface-related heat flow.

Liquid-cooled casting die

A liquid-cooled mold for a continuous casting of metals, including mold plates made of copper or a copper alloy, which are connected respectively to an adapter plate or a cooling-water tank by clamping bolts. The mold is characterized in that the clamping bolts are fastened to plateau pedestals which project in an island-like manner from the cooling arrangement side of the mold plate, which jut at least partially into a cooling arrangement gap formed between the mold plate and the adapter plate or the cooling-water tank, respectively, and have a streamlined shape adjusted to the flow direction of the cooling arrangement.

Liquid-cooled mold

A liquid-cooled mold for the continuous casting of metals, including mold plates made of copper or a copper alloy, which are supported at their rear on supporting plates by the use of a plurality of bolts. The bolts have bolt heads in the region of the backsides of the supporting plates facing away from the mold plates. Between the bolt heads and the supporting plate an articulation system making possible relative motion between the mold plate and the supporting plates is incorporated, having two articulation members, between which a sliding element is undetachably embedded.
