A system and method for administration of drive components. The system comprises at least one drive component having a drive computing unit. Drive software for the drive component is stored on and executable by the drive computing unit. The system has a computing unit in communication with the drive computing unit. The computing unit detects an actual operating state of the drive component and the machine and system context to select at least one service operating state for the drive components according to the detected actual operating state. The system comprises a distributed computing system in communication with the drive computing unit which is configured to trigger administration of the drive components according to the selected service operating state of the drive components. A process to be maintained can be defined which ensures that the operation cannot be negatively influenced and people or machinery cannot be endangered during the administration.

System and method for administration of drive components

In a method for data communication between a control unit and a drive system, the control unit and the drive system are connected to one another, preferably via a bus, in such a manner that data is transmitted by a telegram. The telegram includes an instruction which can be configured for recording and includes an identifier. At least one actual value, preferably a plurality of actual values, and/or of an actual value sequence, preferably a plurality of actual value sequences, of the drive system, are recorded through the instruction for recording, and at least one defined actual value from a plurality of actual values and/or recording at least one defined actual value sequence from a plurality of actual value sequences can be recorded through the identifier.

The transport of work carriers on an assembly line is performed by the use of novel linear motors in which the primary part has both solenoids and permanent magnets and in which the secondary part has no permanent magnets of its own. By the provision of a magnetically soft plate, a work carrier has uniformly spaced clearances with respect to the secondary part and can be moved by the suitably arranged primary part. On an assembly line, it can be provided that the primary parts supplement the unction of an existing transporting bet. It may also be provided that a transporting belt is completely replaced by such primary parts.

A controller for a machine tool or production machine includes a computer with a software program that is not executable in real-time, an interpreter implemented in the non-real-time software program, and a storage medium storing an executable macro loadable into the interpreter for execution by the interpreter. The interpreter determines parameters for parameterizing the controller and stores the parameters in a memory area of the computer. A method for parameterizing a controller or a closed-loop controller is also described. The controller and method can be used to parameterize a controller of a machine tool or production machine. A macro can be used to during startup or reset of the controller.

A recording of a first selectable process signal of a system is indexed by a second process signal that is different from the timing signal of the system. First process signals acquired in this way are stored in a memory as a function of the index-forming second process signal, wherein a measurement value represented by a first process signal is distributed over adjacent memory locations of the memory if the first acquired process signal has a non-integer index.

A data transmission system is described that connects a controller with drives in machine tools and production machines. The controller can be connected via an internal data bus with at least one internal drive, wherein the same data bus profiles are used for the internal data bus as for an external data bus. A user then sees the same data interface both for a central control topology and a drive-based control topology. This allows the user to readily interchange the two topologies and port existing applications to the various control topologies.

A drive unit for controlling drives of machine tools or production machines includes a signal electronics unit, a startup/diagnostic unit, and an interface between the signal electronics unit and the startup/diagnostic unit. The interface has a data line for data exchange between the signal electronics unit and the startup/diagnostic unit, and an electric power line independent of the data line. A switch can be provided that disconnects the signal electronics unit from a power mains or from an additional power supply, when a power failure is detected, and connects the signal electronics unit to the startup/diagnostic unit via the electric power line. This provides a simple and cost-effective approach for supplying electric power to the signal electronics in the event of a power failure or malfunction of the main power feed to the drive unit.

A controller, in particular a drive controller, includes a first functional block for at least one permanently installed controller function and a second functional block for at least one dynamically loadable controller function. During the operation of the controller, an additional function that is only temporarily required, can be loaded as needed, or an already loaded, but only temporarily required additional function can be dynamically loaded or overwritten by another temporarily required additional function.

The device makes it possible to permanently store actual process values recorded by a trace functionality, in particular by a trace module, in the device for controlling drives in a standard data format.

A drive unit for a machine, in particular a machine-tool, robot and the like, is described. The drive unit has several components, and each component has at least one associated component-specific function, and a uniform communication module that forms an interface with the other components. The interfaces of the various components can be connected by logical point-to-point connections or via a bus. The invention relates to an open drive regulator and a method for software generation which offers the capability for customer-specific selection of function objects which are compiled separately. The compiled function objects can be preprocessed in the form of a library routines. Based on the instantiated and compiled function objects, the software for the drive regulator is generated or is loaded online for an existing program sequence. It is particularly advantageous that the function objects can be changed by a customer, for example in order to implement a customer-specific functionality.
