Mouse repellents include one or more plant essential oils or other plant-derived natural compounds. The mouse repellents can be used alone or in combination with mouse attractants. Devices and further methods of using the mouse repellents are also disclosed.

Attractant blend compositions attractive to female mice include one or more pheromone components comprising one or more of 2,3,5-trithiahexane, 1-hexanol, and 3-methyl-2-pentanone; and one or more known attractants. The known attractants can include 3,4-dehydro-exo-brevicomin ('brevicomin'), 2-sec-butyl-4,5-dihydrothiazole (“thiazole”), and testosterone. Devices and methods of using the attractant blend compositions are also disclosed.

Attractant blend compositions, devices and methods for attracting female mice

Compositions attractive to mice include one or more long-range volatiles and one or more short-range volatiles. The long-range volatiles can include butyric acid, 2-methylbutyric acid, and 4-heptanone. Devices and methods of using the compositions are also disclosed.

Attractants for mice

An insect trap may include a first housing; a reservoir at least partially defined by the first housing; a protrusion disposed within the reservoir and extending inward from an interior surface of the first housing, the protrusion configured to pierce a package disposed within the reservoir; an actuator connected to the protrusion such that when the actuator is moved, the protrusion moves with the actuator within the reservoir; a second housing moveably engaging the first housing; a trap chamber partially formed by the first and second housings; an inlet into the trap chamber; and wherein the second housing is movable between a first position where the inlet is open and a second position where the inlet is closed. The trap may include a package enclosing an attractant composition. The package has a release rate of the attractant composition from about 5 μg per day to about 500 μg per day.

Insect trap

A rat attractant composition is disclosed which includes one or more isolated additives. The composition is attractive to at least rats of the species. Devices including the rat attractant composition and methods of using a rat attractant composition are also disclosed.

Attractants for rats

Disclosed is a composition of volatile and less-volatile pheromone components that can be used alone or in combination with other compounds to attract and/or arrest bed bugs of both sexes and all developmental stages. This blend can be used to bait traps that are effective in capturing bed bugs in infested premises or can be combined with a pesticide that is lethal to bed bugs.

Rat attractant compositions attractive to the rat speciesare disclosed, which compositions are constituted of compounds found in the headspace volatiles of male urine odor or female urine odor. A device for attracting a rodent includes a housing for receiving the rodent and a composition adjacent to or included within the housing. The composition includes one or more of androstenone, testosterone, progesterone, or estrogen. The one or more of androstenone, testosterone, progesterone, or estrogen are isolated, purified, synthetic, or a combination thereof. The composition may also include at least one of a lethal agent or a chemosterilant. The device may also include a trap configured to trap or kill the rodent.

Attractants for rodents

This invention relates to a group of compounds for repelling blood-feeding ectoparasitic arthropods, and a method of deterring their landing and feeding on animals including humans, by applying in one or more formulations compounds that incorporate one or more sulfide and one or more hydroxyl groups to the skin, clothing or environment of animals, including humans. A method of repelling and deterring landing and feeding by blood-feeding arthropods on an animal by applying in effective amount one or more compounds that incorporate alkyl sulfide and alcohol moieties, or alkyl sulfide and amide moieties, or alkyl sulfide and amide moieties to the skin, clothing or environment of an animal.

Compounds and methods for repelling blood-feeding arthropods and deterring their landing and feeding

An acoustic signal for attracting rats comprising a playback recording or synthetic generation of vocalizations of rats or mice is provided. The vocalizations may be of rat pups, and may be characterized by sonic frequency components in the range of 1.8-7.5 kHz and/or ultrasonic frequency components in the ranges of 21-24 kHz, 40-50 kHz and/or 60-96 kHz. The vocalizations may be of adult male rats, including courting adult male rats, characterized by sonic frequency components in the range of 15-20 kHz and/or ultrasonic frequency components in the range of 20-100 kHz. The vocalizations may be of adult female mice, including nursing adult female mice, characterized by sonic frequency components in the range of 8-12 kHz and/or ultrasonic frequency components in the range of 25-100 kHz.

Methods and apparatus for attracting rats

This invention describes novel food bait compositions that can be used alone or in combination with blends of attractive compounds to induce attraction and feeding by mice and rats. Said compositions and blends can be used to induce mice and rats to be captured in traps or to approach and remain in a location where they will be exposed to a rodenticide.
