In the case of a shaft coupling for bottom cylinders of drafting units on spinning machines, a shaft is provided on its end with an area of a reduced diameter which engages in a longitudinal bore at the end of the other shaft. In the area of the longitudinal bore, the two shafts are connected with one another by means of a screw thread. In addition to the screw thread, the area of the reduced diameter also comprises two centering surfaces with fits, one fit being a clearance fit and the other fit being a press fit. As a result, radial deviations of the shafts caused by the shaft coupling are to be avoided.

In the case of an open-end spinning rotor assembly composed of a rotor and a rotor shaft, it is provided that the free end of the rotor shaft is equipped with an exchangeable supporting element assigned to a step bearing. The supporting element has a centric guiding surface which is assigned to a concentric guiding surface of the shaft, the axial length of the guiding surface of the supporting element being larger than half the overall axial length of the supporting element.

In the case of a false-twisting nozzle for pneumatic false-twist spinning having a nozzle body formed of one or several segments, it is provided that, for the reduction of the cross-section of the outlet opening of the blow duct, at least one part of its interior wall is provided with a coating.

A circuit arrangement for protection against fault currents in power supplies, having an energy storage means, such as frequency converters for the operation of three-phase motors. The arrangement comprises two identical detector windings in the supply lines leading to the power supply so that a differential current detector winding connected with such detector windings causes a circuit breaker device to be actuated when a given value is exceeded. This circuit breaker device interrupts all the supply lines between the power supply and a load connected therewith by means of switching paths. This ensures that despite the energy stored in the power supply there is rapid and reliable switching off of the load should a fault current occur.

Circuit for protection against fault currents

A method of manufacturing an opening roller assembly for an opening roller of an open-end spinning machine is provided. A hardened cylindrical sleeve made of a hardenable steel alloy has at least one circumferential groove formed in an outer cylindrical surface. After forming the at least one circumferential groove, the cylindrical sleeve includes a remaining wall section having a thickness no greater than 2.2 mm extending from the base of the cylindrical groove to an inner surface of the cylindrical sleeve. circumferential ribs are formed when the circumferential grooves are formed. The ribs have a base thickness of no greater than 0.7 mm. The sleeve wall radial thickness is about 0.06-0.72 times the height of the circumferential ribs. The circumferential groove base width is about 2.5 to 3.5 times the base thickness of the circumferential ribs. Next, at least two axially extending grooves are formed in an axial direction across the cylindrical sleeve circumferential ribs, thereby forming combing teeth having fine tooth points and a slender shape for opening slivers into individual fibers.

Opening roller for an opening device of an open-end spinning machine

A process is provided for producing an open-end spinning rotor assembly. A boron treatment material is applied only to the fiber collecting groove area of the rotor of the spinning rotor assembly. Subsequently, a spinning enhancement material is applied over the boron treated fiber collecting groove and over a sliding wall area of the rotor. An assembly treated with boron treatment material and spinning enhancement material is also provided.

Process for producing an open-end spinning rotor

An opening assembly for an open-end spinning arrangement is provided which includes a steel alloy fitting ring element arranged on a rotatable roller body element for opening a silver into individual fibers. The fitting ring element includes a base wall having a radial thickness no greater than 2.2 mm, and includes a plurality of radially extended teeth unitary with the fitting ring element extending from the base wall. The teeth have lateral flanks formed by at least one cirumferential groove on an outer surface of the fitting ring element, and have front and back edges formed by at least two axially extending longitudinal grooves. The front and back edges have a radial height of about 0.75-0.80 times a radial height of the lateral flanks. The base wall radial thickness has a dimension of about 0.60-0.72 times the radial height of the lateral flanks. The height of the teeth is greater than the distance between the lateral flanks of axially adjacent teeth. The teeth are inclined toward a rotational direction. The teeth have an angle between the front and back edges between about 15.degree. to 45.degree..

A method and apparatus is provided for treating the surfaces of a pair of rollers used in an open-end friction spinning unit containing a pair of friction rollers arranged in an operational position to form a wedge-shaped yarn-forming gap. The pair of friction rollers is treated prior to installation in a spinning unit by rotatably mounting the two friction rollers adjacent one another outside the spinning unit, causing the friction rollers to rotate on their longitudinal axes and simultaneously treating the surface of each friction roller with common treating element.

Method and apparatus for treating open-end friction spinning rollers

A spinning rotor for an open-end spinning device and a method of making same is disclosed. A spinning rotor arrangement includes a shaft carrying a rotor including a sliding wall starting at one open face side of the rotor and diversing conically outward of the rotor axes. A fiber collecting groove is connected to the sliding surface and forms the greatest inner diameter portion of the rotor. The surfaces of the fiber collecting groove are hardened by a plastic deformation process.

Spinning rotor for an open-end spinning device and process of making same

An opening roller and a process for making an opening roller for open-end spinning machines is disclosed where wavy shaped toothed rings and intermediate rings are alternately slid on a preferably cylindrical part. The toothed rings and the intermediate rings are clamped between axial stops. It is provided that during the clamping of the toothed rings and the intermediate rings between the axial stops, the intermediate rings are plastically deformed. Thus it is achieved that without narrow manufacturing tolerances, the toothed rings and the intermediate rings rest against one another without gaps so that fibers cannot be caught during use of the opening roller.
