The woven fabric belt device includes a connecting device (') located at at least one end of the woven fabric belt (&#x2032;). The connecting device is connectable to another connecting device (&#x2032;) of the same belt or of another one through a detachable connecting means (&#x2032;). A number of certain longitudinal yarns (&#x2033;) are removed or extend from the fabric (&#x2032;) along a section (&#x2033;) assigned to the end of the woven fabric belt. According to the teachings of the invention, the removed or extending sections (&#x2033;) of the longitudinal yarns (&#x2033;) are arranged so as to rest on at least one side of the woven fabric belt (&#x2032;) in a region located in front of the connecting device (&#x2032;) so that a support (&#x2033;) for protecting the connecting devices (&#x2032;) Is provided when the woven fabric belt travels over a working area (AF).

Woven fabric belt device

The textile belt (1) is made of a textile material and is used for a screen, conveyor belt or the like. The belt has attached to loops at end edges of belt ends, helical coils (4) which can be intertwined with adjacent helical coils and held together by means of an insertion wire, an insertion pin or the like which can be inserted into the intertwined helical coils. The helical coil (4) is divided at each end edge into at least three portions, namely two narrow edge portions (7) and a central portion (3), and each helical coil portion is connected to loops at the belt end edges independently of the other portions.

Textile belt

A woven fabric belt device, e.g. an endless screen belt for paper making machines wherein a connection device (7a) is provided on at least one end of the woven fabric belt, which connection device is connectable by use of a releasable connecting device (9) to a further connection device (7b) which is arranged either at the other end of the same woven fabric belt or at an end of another woven fabric belt. In order to provide protection against wear, a number of predetermined longitudinal threads (2) are removed but not separated from the woven fabric (1,2,6) along a portion thereof (4) associated with the end of the woven fabric belt, wherein the removed portions (4) of the longitudinal threads (2) are rewoven into a horizontal protective layer of the woven fabric. The protective layer is positioned to lie at least one of over, under and both over and under the connection device (7a) of the woven fabric belt and thus form a protective layer for this connection device (7a).
