A receptacle assembly for a vehicle charging inlet is provided having a base with apertures formed through, an external receptacle extending from the base in a first direction for receiving a charging cable connector, and an internal receptacle extending from the base in a second direction, opposite the first direction, for receiving a plurality of wires from a wire harness. The internal receptacle defines an internal cavity having at least one terminal receptacle formed about one of the apertures and at least one fuse receptacle. The internal receptacle includes wire channels for routing a wire having an inline fuse from the terminal receptacle to the fuse receptacle and from the fuse receptacle to a wire outlet. The inline fuse is received by the fuse receptacle.

A filtered electrical connector with ferrite block combinations and a filter assembly therefor are disclosed. More particularly, the filtered electrical connector includes a connector housing made of an electrically insulating material, at least two terminals each having a cable contact area for conductively attaching cables for conducting a signal to be filtered and a contacting portion for making contact with a corresponding contacting portion in a complementary mating connector. The filtered electrical connector also includes a filter assembly which comprises at least two generally cylindrical ferrite bodies positioned on a common axis, the terminals extending into or passing through the filter assembly.

An electrical connector with a cable insulation strain relief feature is disclosed. More particularly, the electrical connector includes a connector housing made of an electrically insulating material, at least one terminal in the connector housing, the terminal having a cable contact area for conductively attaching an inner conductor of a cable for conducting an electrical signal and a contacting portion for making contact with a corresponding contacting portion in a complementary mating connector. One end of the terminal is forked forming two forked portions that are bent by about 90&deg; with respect to the non-forked portion of the terminal. A spacing between the forked portions is smaller than an outer diameter of an insulation of said cable.

A filtered electrical connector with adjustable performance using combined multi-aperture ferrite cores is disclosed. More particularly, the filtered electrical connector includes a connector housing made of an electrically insulating material, at least two terminals each having a cable contact area for conductively attaching cables for conducting a signal to be filtered and a contacting portion for making contact with a corresponding contacting portion in a complementary mating connector. The filtered electrical connector further includes a filter assembly which in turn includes an electrical conductor for conducting an electrical signal to be filtered and at least two ferrite bodies. Each of the ferrite bodies includes at least two passages therein with the electrical conductor passing through the passages. The respective ends of the electrical connector are connected in series between one of the cable contact areas and an associated contacting portion.

Filtered electrical connector with adjustable performance using combined multi-aperture ferrite cores

The design of the present invention compiles EMI protection of two formerly separated filtering devices (coil and ferrite beads) in one optimal packaging. It consists of a coil wound around a cylindrical tubular ferrite bead and welded at one end to the terminal receptacle fed through the ferrite bead. The signal is routed through the coil and then through the ferrite bead providing added filtering effect. The design provides further performance improvement and significant reduction of the packaging size. The filtering system of the present invention has a superior performance and efficiency in the 100 to 300 MHz range. The present invention provides minimum packaging size for required electrical and mechanical performance. The filter consisting of a coil and a ferrite bead is packaged in the contact portion (or nozzle area) of the connector, eliminating the necessity of packaging space in the connector housing. Providing only one locking hook improves side-to-side packaging performance for serviceable connectors and provides more reliable locking.
