In a switching device with at least one first electrical switching device input and at least one first electrical switching device output and at least one second electrical switching device output, wherein in a first operating state of the switching device the first switching device input is electrically connected with the first switching device output, wherein in a second operating state of the switching device the first switching device input is electrically connected with the second switching device output, is proposed to configure the switching device for uninterrupted switchover from the first operating state to the second operating state and/or from the second operating state to the first operating state to allow functional testing of a fault current circuit breaker without interruption.

Switching device

A residual-current circuit breaker includes at least one summation current transformer through which are guided at least one first conductor and one second conductor of an electric network to be protected. At least one secondary winding is arranged on the summation current transformer and connected in terms of circuitry to a trip element. A test circuit connects the first conductor with the second conductor and includes at least one first test resistor, a second test resistor arranged serially in relation to the first test resistor in terms of circuitry, and a test button. The second test resistor is bridged by a shunt line which is guided through the summation current transformer. Arranged in the shunt line in terms of circuitry is at least one first voltage-dependent resistor.

Residual-current circuit breaker

A residual-current circuit breaker includes at least one summation current transformer through which a first lead and a second lead of a network to be protected are guided. At least one secondary winding is arranged on the summation current transformer and operatively connected, at least indirectly, with an energy storage element. A trip element is operatively connected with break contacts in the first and second leads. In order to reduce expected cut-offs of a network to be protected, an electric signaling device is operatively connected, at least indirectly, with the energy storage element.

A residual-current circuit breaker includes a core-balance transformer, a first conductor and a second conductor of an electrical supply system which is to be protected being routed through the core-balance transformer, and a secondary winding being arranged on the core-balance current transformer. The secondary winding is connected to a release by circuitry. A test circuit connecting the first conductor and the second conductor has at least a first test resistor and a reset button, in order to provide accurate checking of an ability of residual current tripping to function, the test circuit has a second test resistor arranged in series with the first test resistor by circuitry. The second test resistor is bridged by a bypass line that is routed through the core-balance transformer and at least one first voltage dependent resistor is arranged in the bypass line by circuitry.

A switching device for disconnecting and switching at least one line of a power supply is disclosed. The switching device may be, for example, a residual-current-operated protective device or a combination switch and includes a line-voltage-independent trigger device, a trigger element, such as a trigger relay, associated with the line-voltage-independent trigger device, as well as a line-voltage-dependent trigger device. The line-voltage-dependent trigger device has means for triggering the trigger element that is associated with the line-voltage-independent trigger device. The switching device has a simple construction, a reduced number of components, and also an enhanced functional reliability compared to a conventional switching device.
